Looks as though Greenberfield will get the rain to wash the slurry in from this evening onwards....

I'd love to see that venturi taken off and the head rebuilt as it was.....

Heavy showers this morning, just the thing to wash the slurry in and it's warm enough to be really growy. Greenberfield Farm got it right!

Thunder showers forecast for later this week. Even better for the slurry! There used to be a belief that thunder raised nitrogen levels in the air and benefited crops.....

These two pictures were taken about 3 hours apart this morning; the first about 6.30am before the sun burnt off the overcast.

And this one just now, as the sun gets going.

I was mercifully still asleep at 4am.

I've been trying to spot someone haymaking (as opposed to silaging) from my vantage point, but no joy.

Did see grass being turned at Accornlea Farm, Foulridge on way to meeting yesterday evening.

This is my favourite from this morning; looking East rather than my more typical shots to the West. It's number 43 and one of four I thought worth keeping.

I took the pictures over a period of half an hour or so. Editing them, it was interesting to see how the mist and the light changed as the sun broke through.

(Took my camera with me for the hayfield near Accornlea last night, but my meeting lasted too long and it had all been bailed by the time I came home. Looked like they'd got good hay, though.)

Agreed... but it didn't take long for me to bounce back out again!

Frankly, with Beach looming (and the dross of having to overcome the road closure nonsense last week) I'm in overdrive; need to be careful not to burn out before having a week off in a fortnight's time (whoopee!). Lindsay G is taking a week off work to oversee Beach and we're off to the seaside (I hope!). (Does that sound strange... getting away from the Beach by going to another?)

A couple of pics from just before 5am, with mist rolling up the valley into Barlick. It was capping the speed with which the banks of mist ebbed and flowed.

Barlick bathed in setting sunlight last night.

I missed the best of the sunset as I'd a job to do up town at 9 o'clock.

Wow, how did they get planning permission to put that on top of the church? Do I remember reading it was done to cure the leaking roof?
It's a monstrosity. I'm sure Prince Charles would have words to say about it.
