Kitchen Refurb
Re: Kitchen Refurb
Tiffany?...ok...I am an Art Deco fan and was attracted to the lamp.
( I have been an Art Deco fan forever, but seem to have had impossible difficulties convincing two husbands of my decorating desires in that direction!)
But I love the lamp shade entirely. My kind of thing.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
Aye, the original Tiffany glass lampshades are very expensive. There are lots 'in the style of', I don't have a pic of the actual shade that's hanging from the ceiling but it's very much like this one

Re: Kitchen Refurb
Ms P is a big Tiffany fanatic. They are all over the place. She spotted a standard lamp on the internet which she fancied. Priced at about £50 more than the average. But, and it became a big But, the postage was an extra £125 against previous £29. Mugs we are not, it was kicked into touch.
Re: Kitchen Refurb
I have two small stained glass lamps...one is a butterfly and one is a lady-bug.
Cathy has a pretty one too.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
This is how our new kitchen looks after a major update was needed
For me the interesting feature is the bare solid oak mantle as at first I wasnt really sold on the idea but the family wanted it and looking at blogs like Ideal Home or House & Garden etc it looks to fit well as we wanted the cottage kitchen style. Murdoch Troon said at the design stage it was going to work perfectly in the overall kitchen style and it works for us. Their kitchen island is a masterpiece and I cant stop looking at it when I go in to the kitchen. Overall we were looking for a countrystyle kitchen but needed a modern twist.

Some of your pictures need straightening, Stanley. I can’t live all “crooked” like that
( is that a glimpse of your underpants top left? )
Beautiful kitchen, Sammie. I have kind of worked my way through and over the country look nowadays ( I prefer minimalism now). I can appreciate the lovely job you have had done though. I could admire that bench all day.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
Nothing wrong with clean underpants Maz. The pictures are fine....
Sammie, are you advertising for Murdoch Troon? If not, you should be. That would make a good advertising pic on his site....

I'll lay a small bet that we don't hear anything else from our Sammie.... Sorry Sammie but we are very defensive of our little corner.... That's why it is such a clean and interesting site.

Fair enough....nice kitchen bench but.

I knew something wasn’t right.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here.
Re: Kitchen Refurb
Definitely a marketing troll. probably a result of a google search for kitchen refurbs. Not sure how much business a firm in Louth hopes to get from the ad though.
Don't think too badly of him / her though, if it weren't for a search for pencil drawings a long time ago you wouldn't have one of the interesting pictures on your kitchen wall. Check out Conor Farr - and his mum.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
Not the kitchen, yet but I've started introducing some colour onto the walls of Chez Kev. Most of it was painted with matt white emulsion, it's starting to look better now...

Re: Kitchen Refurb
I like the archway and the heavy coving . These are some of the first features that disappear in new builds. Fancy architrave and broad skirting boards are among the first things to bite the dust.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
Nice Kev, your coving is just about the same as ours, and your choice of colours, we have just done our front room.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
Yesterday's job was to strip the grey gloss paint from the handrail. It came off fairly easily, a few coats of light oak woodstain and it looks a lot better.

Re: Kitchen Refurb
One of these, no need for the heat gun as they had just gone straight on with gloss.
