Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon we had sun but with some occasional spatters of rain. At 20:00 the overcast which had come in again was breaking and we had late evening sun under a partially clear sky. This morning it's calm and clear, we have stars in the sky! The glass is up again on 1025mb. The forecast is (would you believe it....) overcast but dry. The wind is very light and variable starting in the East and ending tonight in the West. We can expect a high of 16C and a low of 10C tonight with only a slight wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather but even warmer. (But still that bloody overcast!)

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was another overcast day but it managed to stay dry and at 20:00 it was still heavily overcast. This morning we have the same overcast and the glass is unchanged on 1025mb. The forecast is of course for an overcast but dry day. The constant west wind is light and gives us a high of 17C and a low of 9C tonight with only a slight wind chill. The outlook is for warmer weather and more mixed, the odd shower but some sun also!

Much the same here Stanley, but it managed to dry the washing and it was a heavy wash. Looking the same today.

Likewise here Gloria. I got up from my second sleep hoping for some sun, instead we have the same grey overcast as yesterday. It's getting to be a bit boring!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon the clouds relented and by 20:00 we had low sun coming in from the west below a broken overcast. This morning once more it's calm, dry and overcast. The glass is down slightly on 1022mb and the forecast is for guess what? That's right, a dry overcast day with perhaps some late sun this evening. The mainly southerly winds are very light and variable and give us our best high of the year so far, 20C with a low tonight of 12C and negligible wind chill. The six day outlook is for similar weather with perhaps a greater chance of showers later.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was the best weather yet this year, calm, sunny and warm. It was warmer outside than it was in the house.... At 20:00 it was still warm with an almost totally clear sky and late sunshine. The glass is down slightly on 1020mb and the forecast is for a sunny start to a bright dry day but overcast. The east wins will be light to moderate giving us a high of 21C and a low of 9C tonight with up to -3C wind chill this afternoon. The outlook is for similar weather all week with possibly more showers.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was the warmest day yet this year. At 20:00 we had bright overcast but late evening sun was coming in under the overcast from the west. This morning it is calm, dry, mild and overcast, the glass is down on 1015 and the forecast is for a day of bright overcast and sunny spells with possible showers 18:00 onwards. There is a yellow warning of thunder from noon to ten o'clock but that is mainly a west coast event and it's possible we might escape it. The mainly easterly winds are moderate and give us a high of 21C and a low of 12C tonight with a wind chill of -3C this afternoon. The outlook is for similar weather if slightly cooler and with no surprises!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Lots of lightning, rumbles of thunder and rain here in Foulridge, it rolled in about 30 minutes ago. Lost the satellite signal so we're watching a recording of Sky Arts' Johnson and Knopfler's Music Legends. They're chatting with Cyndi Lauper.

That was a bit too close for comfort! Our phone line has taken a hit, but we don't use it anyway so that's ok.

That was quite an experience! It's still going on to the north east of us.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon was sunny, warm and close as it gradually clouded over. The thunder and lightning started at about 19:30, we had some rain but nothing serious. It lasted for two hours and I don't think it was ever directly over Barlick. This morning it is calm, overcast and dry. The glass is down on 1004mb and the forecast is for an overcast day and heavy rain coming in this evening. The SE wind starts light and increases to moderate giving us a high of 19C and a low of 13C tonight with a wind chill that gets as high as -3C this afternoon. The outlook is for a cooler wetter day tomorrow and then back to very similar weather to today.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday was a warm sunny afternoon with the heavy rain forecast turning out to be a light shower between 4 and 5. By 20:00 it was dry and overcast. This morning first thing it was just starting to rain and since then a breeze has developed and slightly heavier rain. The glass has fallen to 998mb and the forecast is for heavier rain until late in the afternoon. The mainly SE wind is moderate and allows us a high of only 15C and a low tonight of 11C with a light wind chill of -2C at most. The outlook is for similar weather but perhaps warming a little later in the week.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday followed the forecast mainly but the 'heavy rain' was light and patchy and once again we had a sunny late afternoon but by 20:00 it had gone back to overcast. This morning first thing it was calm, clear and dry and so far it hasn't changed. The glass is up slightly on 1000mb and the forecast is for an overcast but dry day. The constant light easterly wind gives us a high of 15C and a low tonight of 11C with a slight wind chill that is never more than -2C. The outlook is for similar weather but warmer than today, no surprises.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday we had more light rain showers than was forecast but it was never what you would really call wet. By 20:00 it had cleared up and we had dry weather but overcast. There were clear spells during the night and first thing this morning it was calm, clear and mild. Since then we have picked up some cloud and now we have dry overcast. The glass is up on 1004mb and the forecast is for a dry overcast day with possible sunny spells this afternoon. The constant NE wind is light and gives us a high of 18C and a low of 11C with only a slight wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather, perhaps slightly brighter and warmer if we are lucky!

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER
Yesterday afternoon ended up sunny and warm but was overcast by 20:00 when I went to bed. First thing this morning it was calm and dry but overcast and it hasn't changed since. The glass is steady on 1004mb and the forecast is the same as yesterday, overcast but dry during the day and some sunny intervals later this afternoon. The very light wind starts in the east and later this afternoon is in the north. It allows us a high of 18C and a low of 11C tonight with negligible wind chill. The outlook is for brighter and warmer weather but no surprises!
