Mainly dry day but generally overcast so no record temperatures yesterday. Glass steady on 29.8", make of that what you will.

Wellie walk in the rain first thing, wet grass penetrates even good boots! Glass at just under 29.8" and I still don't know what it foretells, I'll have a guess at showers and overcast!

Foe the North West there is a Low on the way ( I think its the left-over of the Azores Hurricane ) , Family are off to Morecombe for the weekend.

(Spell check has just suggested Beachcomber for the place name !)

And you still don't have it right! It's Morecambe, or it was the last time I visited last week.

I have friends in Heysham, Near Morcambe they seem to have far better weather than us. Had a day in Southport yesterday and it was lovely, warm and a little overcast. Very busy. Dave reckened we had to have a day out he was getting cabin fever. We are not as hardy as the Barlicker's so only go out when the weathers good. Eileen

Later, after walking round the town. I should have told you all, I cut my hair on Wednesday and reflected as I was doing it that this more or less guaranteed the onset of colder weather. Definitely cooler this morning, core temperature of house has dropped and I can see that we might light a little fire this afternoon to ensure warm TV watching! So sorry about that, blame it all on me.

Not a particularly bad day today - rather cloudy and mainly dry. However, rain heavy overnight tonight and part of tomorrow. But Sunday should be a resonable sort of day. When does the tide come in at Barlick beach !! :laugh5:

Glass fallen again to 29.2". Cooler feel to the morning. I get the feeling 'summer' is over as we move into September. Not helped by the shorter day.

Far better weather in Heysham - left a couple of hours ago in warm sunshine and had torrential rain all down the motorway and to Burnley. Morecambe Bay has a micro climate.

Barlick had episodes of deep gloom yesterday, a huge clap of thunder at dinnertime and some grumbling thunder at about 23:00. Glass is rising again, over 29.5" this morning. Cooler weather and I hate to say it but I went back into me vest yesterday (singlet actually). This doubtless means we will now have a heat wave! A little fire in the stove soon warmed things up, we are entering the heating season again.

Avoiding heating by wearing extra layer or thicker garments , dont normally like putting heating on until end of Sept if I can help it , made it to mid November one year ( middle flat w/e facing , d/g and wall insulated )and floor to ceiling books it does help. Mind you the heat from the old telly and the valve guitar amps used to assist as well , now the laptop is nicely warming.

Dry during the night and glass at 29.6". Hardly any wind but a westerly promised later bringing rain in. Deep Joy! Almost September.
