Overcast most of the day here Moh. Glass falling slowly, 30" this morning. Our early fine spell is over but still good weather for the time of the year. Gardens need some rain now.....

That breeze is bitterly cold, just put the heating on.

Much cooler. Glass steady on 30". Dry and not much breeze. April comes in very quietly.

Yesterday started with a frost but stayed clear and developed into a nice bracing April Day with plenty of sunshine.

Valley Gardens was lovely.
Glass has fallen to 29.7" this morning. Looks as though we are seeing the start of the rain coming down from the North. Dry at the moment but a touch of snow later?

Spring has been postponed. Forecast is for over 20C cooler over the next few days. Snow forecast for the North and iot wouldn't be any surprise to see a covering when we get up in Barlick tomorrow morning. Cathy and Maz can congratulate themselves, they are going to get the better deal over the next week!

I hope we don't get snow, all the spring flowers and bushes will be damaged. Dull and still today.

Often get snow in April , but tends only to be for 2 to 3 days in a row and of the light stuff that wont damage early plant growth , delicate plants should continue to have frost protection in place until mid May in many places.

We had some black clouds yesterday but it stayed fine. Glass still falling, 29.3" this morning but still dry, not cold and a light breeze. We are told to expect rain later and snow on higher ground but it doesn't feel cold enough at the moment.
Correction. In the last ten minutes it has started to rain. Only a light shower but definitely welcome.

The wind swung into the North last night and started to strengthen. The glass has started to rise and is just over 29.5", a strong wind and snow blowing on it but not settling. Just had another look and the big flakes are more frequent now but still not settling. Looks like the last blast of winter!

It's no use! Jack and I have to get out for a walk. Snowing quite hard now so it's wellies and foul weather gear. Deep Joy! I'll bet it's settling up at Prospect!
Lights are flickering, what a good job the stove doesn't need leccy!

Turned out nice again! Jack and I are back in the warm. It's lousy out there, difficult to remember that last week we were in shirt sleeves for the early morning walk. Snow persists and is trying to settle. I don't think it will manage. Leccy is flickering, I hope it doesn't go out and stop CH working. Luckily for me the stove doesn't care whether it's on or not. A good move I think.

The snow has settled here! Very strong north easterly wind causing drifting up to a foot or more in places. Can't help but worry about all the tiny lambs in the fields around us, but hopefully it will stop soon...the sun is meant to be out by lunchtime.

Could be wrong about snow not being heavy , reports of NE england getting a fair amount. Why is the electric playing up around Barnoldswick ( reports of Manchester Road part out for a while on Monday )

Was up at Heysham last bight and there was no snow this morning but a very strong, cold wind. Ingleborough and the surrounding hills have had a heavy covering.

Some snow this morning but soon melting away as the sun came out. Still a cold north easterly wind through the day. Lights were flickering a bit late last night and early this morning here in Nelson. Looking milder from tomorrow onwards, but some rain over the Easter weekend, sorry.

You have to smile don't you? Tonight at midnight (how dramatic) the hosepipe ban for most of the East starts, and there was a big PR campaign to accompany it. Problem was that a lot of the region had two inches of rain overnight, leading to flash flooding, and all the vox pop interviews on TV, were done in pouring rain. Gaiai has a sense of humour.
Luckily there is no ban where I live. So if it's nice, I'll switch my river on this weekend.

It never got any worse in Barlick than the photo I took. Jack and I must have picked the worst time for our walk! Sun came out, snow vanished and we must have had 10C. Ironic thing was that the council mowed the grass in Valley Gardens on Tuesday just in time for it to be covered by snow.
Clear cold night and I think a touch of frost. Heating kicked in this morning despite the fact that the stove was still hot in the front room so it is a cold morning. Glass has risen to 30", broken cloud but no wind. Leccy flickered yesterday but never went off. I think, looking at reports, that we were lucky!

We had a bright day in Barlick yesterday. This morning it's fine and dry with only a slight breeze. Glass is 29.9" so it looks as though Moh is right.

We had what my old Irish mate used to call a 'drimmy' day. Never rained but never dry. Wet enough in the morning to bring the Barbour out for early morning walk but no weight to the showers.
Damp flags this morning, must have been a shower during the night but dry now. Glass fallen back to 29.6" with a light breeze. Looks like a similar day to yesterday. Bank Holiday. What else can we expect!

Very similar day yesterday. Not bad weather for the time of year and the young plants like the moist conditions.
Glass 29.6" this morning. Not a lot of change?

Not a good week next week. Heavy showers and getting colder later in the week. There could be some snow on hills by next Friday. But these are probably average weather conditions for this time of year. So April showers !
