Yes, don't forget to line it with foil Gloria....I would add an extra layer on the outside too. Any Xmas card arriving in November is suspect and should be placed in a tin with a well fitting lid until Xmas Eve, but make sure you brush any glitter off first. It might be best to bury the glitter separately in the garden.
I took my foil off for a few minutes yesterday and the next thing I knew I was soaking dried fruit in brandy ready to make a seasonal cake!!

You are supposed to soak yourself in Brandy and check the bath for dried fruit....

I don't understand this thread either but it's peculiarly soothing, so it must contain some sort of alternative remedy for countering the external forces. Very useful to us here where the heat and light seem to fail at this time of year and you have be tough to survive the TV brainwashing. They try to tell us that the dimming of the heat and light is `natural', but we're not falling for that! Haha! Hahahahahaha....

I think it best to soak my insides with the brandy therefore getting rid of the evidence. The christmas card came in a "red" envelope, and is as yet buried under a pile of "stuff" on the kitchen dresser. I will see if any changes occur and report back.

I finished the xmas cake ....tried wrapping my head in greaseproof paper and a thick outer layer of brown paper tied with string. (I wonder if Delia Smith knows anything about Mrs Trellis?) Think I may have mislaid the rest of the brandy, can't find it anywhere........

Try sniffing last night's unwashed coffee cup. It could provide a clue as to what happened to the rest of the Brandy.
I wouldn't worry about it. Quite a famous female cook takes all sorts of little helpers to get her through the day...apparently. It doesn't seem to ruin her cooking either.
But do try to locate the empty bottle dear.
There is only so many that can fit behind the loo pan before folk put two and two together.

Maz, you beat me to it as usual! The revelations in the Saatchi/Lawson case partially explain her cooking and demonstration techniques. How unlike the family life of our dear queen.....
I find that a scattering of salt between the hat and the foil lining is very efficacious. As for glitter on Xmas cards, it belongs to the devil!

Phew! Found the missing brandy under my foil hat (thanks for the clue Maz, it was behind the loo as you suspected.) Cake, brandy and all now tucked away safely in Tins Till Nearer The Time. Control regained.

None at this end Moh, Boris, Beamsley Bob and Mrs Trelliss seem to have gone to ground. Of course this may be for secrecy and avoiding the Thought Police. I see that the great light in the sky we were expecting has been swallowed up by the Sun. (Latest news is that some of Ison may have survived. We may yet get a significant Light in the Sky.)

Heard that news also in East Angular and am typing this post craning my neck out of the dining room window to keep a look-out. No news yet but I am hopeful, just waiting for the sky to clear....

As an aside, I understand from the local pamphleteer that Steam Punk is to hold a Dickensian fayre close-by on Saturday. Does anyone know Mr Punk? He seems to wear a stove-pipe hat with welding goggles around the puggaree (oh I was soooo tempted) and quite a dandy frock coat. I will keep you informed.

Mmmmm...three posts in a row that throw confusion into the grey matter.
Must confess I have no idea what a Puggaree is, nor a Surtout, nor a Gimmer's Meeting.
The foreign dialect has beaten me.
Strange shaped parcel arrived here yesterday, which is yet to be opened. It has aroused my suspicions though...

Never mind the ones in the sky. The ones on the ground in Barlick's town square are now firing on both cylinders.

I met the magicians whilst I was chasing Wendy and Robin Hood round the shops.

The chief magician blamed The Transformers for the partial blackout, despite my protests that The Transformers weren't Disney characters.

To cap it all (but not with tinfoil), the magicians blamed Circuit Breaker (some sort of Judge Dredd character?) for blocks of wall lights being out.

Now my eyes are functioning properly I am amazed by the number of lights I see through my bedroom window while lying there with no glasses on. Very confusing, how do I distinguish the important ones coming in from the North?

Friday night went to a ball and witnessed a strange phenomena of men impersonating penguins and doing some odd movements to music. Is this a way they have developed to send messages?
The women seemed oblivious to everything but dancing and drinking........maybe not programmed properly to do anything else!
I think someone or something had control over this.

It was hard to ignore lots of 'pop ups' at my local shopping centre today, selling (or trying to) lots of things that are available all year round, but making it look as if the items are things that we really need in order to get thru the next few weeks. The glitz and attractive packaging was attracting a lot of people and causing congestion.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

Another strange phenomena last night. Just as the christmas ads came on during X Factor our ITV signal went down---- is this a sign of someone/thing trying to take over our TV sets? or had Rivington been shrouded in a mist to stop any of these ads promoting spending. It needs investigation :geek:

We had the blackout too - keep your eye on future programmes.
The gimmers have hidden all their equipment in the caves on Boulsworth, just bringing the heavy kit out at night - but no signs yet of mysterious comings!!

Never noticed the drop-out on my TV. The second conical emitter in the Town Square is now in full operating mode. Noticed how full the Co-op car park was yesterday. Are people stocking up for Xmas so soon? Three weeks before Xmas? Makes you wonder about sell-by dates.....

You are moving at so swift a pace with this thread, I am agog! No! in answer to the question of my headgear on the night I drove through Wetherby, no foil. which i realise now is a big mistake. Ever since then my head has become more and more confused, I find we are having chocolate cake made with rum, (well if I ever get round to it we will be) so i don't even have any brandy to counteract the effects. Thankfully no cards sent or received yet..or do I mean thankfully? Oh dear I am so confused. I have been asked so nicely by panny not to be a stranger and yet I find myself being stranger than ever! Have got budget foil recently and will get a hat fashioned pronto..salt helps you say Stanley? and did someone say drinking Brandy behind the toilet? Am i too late?
