Thanks for that Kev. One of them was evidently a very good job. I shall keep an eye on it...

I drove past the green around 8pm last night and they were all lit - they must be on timers and the odd one has a faulty timer maybe?

Could well be a faulty timer, they must be good quality batteries

That mention of high winds reminds me of when we had gales here before Christmas. Some people had those life-size inflatable Santas and Snowmen outside their front doors and they had to deflate them to prevent them blowing away. It was a depressing sight the following day!
(I typed the above post too fast and had to correct it - the original referred to `life-size inflatable Satans!
)

About the same Tiz, not Christian anyway!
Thanks Pete. The plot thickens.....
Later... The last 'Balloon' is either not working or has been removed.....

I note that Mr Stephenson's Xmas tree has bitten the dust and the last remaining small conical emitter on Skipton Road at Osborne Terrace has been removed.
I suspect this is the end of posts to this topic for the present!

I realised yesterday that the last survivor of the Xmas Lights is the Star of Bethlehem, reindeer and sleigh hanging over Wellhouse Street as a DIY decoration.
Not lit now and I expect them to vanish soon.

They'll go like all the others eventually Cathy. What they need is a round tuit.

Walked down mum's high street , the frames with the LEDs on are up on the lamp standards , always worth doing and I have got mum in the process of getting the christmas cards written up as we have no idea how things will go in December.

The fairy lights are back in the trees on Fernlea Avenue. The conical emitters on Skipton Road are, as yet, not lit.

The Xmas lights appear to be complete. The conical emitters on the lamp posts on Skipton Road are lit this morning.

They were lit yesterday lunchtime, hopefully someone will amend the timer

I didn't see them until this morning Kev. The timers that are supposed to control the lights in that area (If there are any in some cases.) appear to be a bit erratic to say the least. The lights in the toilets appear to be on all night but the outside lights are erratic. The uplighters on the Jubilee Memorial seem to be on 24X7.

Just a normal bookie watch but then....
I realised that the Council have started installing the conical emitters on the lamp posts on Skipton Road. This means that we are almost into the annual fight to get money out of our pockets. Question is, will everything we want be on the shelves? We will soon know.

Did Santa have to put the elves on furlough during the lockdown, I wonder? Or are they one big family like Rees-Mogg's Tory gang?

Not sure Peter but it was a bit of a shock realising that it was that time of year again.
The motto this year seems to be to shop early for things like toys....
Just for once the warnings about turkey shortages we always get around this time of year might be accurate....

Unfortunately they have started Kev, at least they have on Youtube. (Who is that bloke, I seem to know him.)
I see they have cleared a big space in the Co-op near the tills where it will hit you in the face as you walk in. I wonder what they'll be putting there?
