hi all,
i am gary, served 15 yrs in reme,left in 1990 lived in other places and now back in the u.k. working for the MOD teaching new soldiers how to fix helicopters......and still a lancashire lad at heart.

Garry, being anti-tank we had two REME gunfitters allocated to us and I have happy memories of the way we worked together.

REME did that stand for Rough Engineering Made Easy
and of course RE was just Rough Engineering. On doing some light Research on Searchlight Batteries in WW2 I was surprised to see that they came under the Royal Engineers.
