Re: QUOTE OF THE DAY. TRIPPS ORIGINAL

Did you notice that in the Brazil-France exchanges over the burning of the Amazon rain forest Bolsanaro's son called Macron an `idiot'? The son was lined up to be Brazil's ambassador to the US but there has been some resistance in Brazil so I don't know what he is at the moment. When Trump heard abo...

I don't know what size it is but I guess it would be useful if you wanted to dismantle a brick wall! Knock it into the mortar gaps and lever it back and forth to separate the bricks.

Re: Back Under Canvas

I remember camping at a site in the south of France in the 1970s where the ground was so stoney, baked and dried out that we could hardly get the metal spikes hammered into the ground. People were having to put stones on the ends of the guy ropes instead. Luckily it was calm weather!

I was tempted to make up and post a joke news report that EU food companies exporting to the UK where putting a use-by date of 31st October 2019 on the products but I decided not to. The Leavers would probably pick it up and broadcast it over social media as a `true fact'.

The other problem here is that most houses are bought with mortgages. I'm glad we no longer have a lawn to look after. Instead we have lots of beautiful flowering perennials and shrubs and they're attracting in lots of insects. Blackbirds don't miss the lawn - they enjoy turning over our bark mulch to pick out the worms and other invertebrates.
