I think those gates are too low, Cathy. An adult walking into it by mistake or falling over on it would probably tumble over it and down the stairs.

One of my undergraduate pals got a job as chief chemist at a vinegar factory in London. He gave me a tour around it which was fascinating but was a challenge for my nose. He was used to the fumes by then.
