Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Fortunately I have only paid out for the searches, on the property I'm buying, so if it all goes 'belly up' and I don't secure another buyer I'm not too much out of pocket. Fifteen years ago when I sold my house in the south, my buyers were arrested for money laundering on the day we exchanged contr...

How old is your laptop? It could be the update corrupted one of the drivers (mine was the graphics driver). Check everything is up to date in Device Manager.

Good, but I was wondering about doing what Laura did yesterday when she connected to my router to do Facetime with her mum.
All part of your broadband 'package'.

Question, would it be free to talk to Oz via the router?
Using something like Skype would allow you to 'video call' anywhere and would use your broadband connection and would 'cost' whatever it is you pay for it. I have 'unlimited' broadband so 'Skype video call' to Oz would be inclusive.

Visiting Burnley General Eye Department with a bit of an issue with my right eye. I got an emergency appointment at my optician on Wednesday after noticing flashing light on the edge of my vision and new floaters. I have an i5 now with SSDs so it'll be a while before I look at upgrading, it has 16gb of RAM too so copes very well with W10 and Photoshop. There's not much else on it :-)

Re: Shed Matters 3

I was in luck, my neighbour had one. 10% in the structural timber (9-14%) is acceptable and 0.2% in the plaster. Looks like it was a recent failure and the moisture was just in the ceiling boards.

Re: Shed Matters 3

Has anyone got a damp meter I can borrow for half an hour? The survey on my house picked up a high moisture level in the chimney breast in the loft, looks like the flashing has failed. An easy enough fix. I've cut out the bit of plasterboard on the ceiling and a bit of plaster on the wall, everythin...

It stayed dry in Whitby last night even though the sky looked threatening.

There's light rain at the moment but it does look to be brightening up a bit. I've just looked at my CCTV at home and the sun is shining in Barlick.

I keep to less than 100g of carbs a day, the majority of those are in the porridge I have for breakfast. I could probably eat less than that but my hba1c has been 40 or less so I'll stick with the porridge :good:

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

For a Serving Size of 2 fish cakes (100g) the carb content average is around 25g, the low carb option is to use cauliflower instead of potato which would drop the carb content to around 8g :good:

I note that as I am on a fixed price contract I will not benefit from the cap changing.
The same for several million of us. My annual 'cost' is under the cap, as is yours, so it wouldn't make a difference anyway.

The 'early' SMETS1 meters, for those that changed suppliers, won't be dumb for much longer. With regards to conspiracy nut jobs, there was one in Facebook land claiming that energy suppliers could get into the meters remotely and 'up' your consumption figures. When I asked him for the evidence, of t...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I've done some further reading and, with my simplistic outlook, can't see why there's a need for HS2. Use of the GCR looks as though maximum speed would be restricted to 140mph, instead of the predicted 225mph of HS2 but the potential financial benefit could be phenomenal, most of the infrastructure...
