Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts

.orf (Olympus Raw Format) have been around for a while so most image manipulation software should open them. You may find you'll need to sharpen them up a bit and up the saturation a bit as Olympus raw files are a bit 'flat' straight out of the camera :-)

That sounds interesting, I used to enjoy wet processing.

With regard to the framing, have a chat with Jamie in Make a Connection on Newtown.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Is it electric. I looked up the number on this machine, the code indicates it was one of 120,000 made between July and December on Clyde-Bank in 1910. I bought it as 1896 but am happy with 1910. It has what is described as a coffin lid, it certainly looks like one. The lid has one latch missing and...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

Our microwave is primarily used to cook porridge at breakfast time. The lamb shanks were an attempt to make things easier while I'm hopping about on crutches, it didn't go as planned :laugh5:

:surprised: I've never tried cooking boil-in-the-bag anything (!) but would not think it safe in the microwave to cook Lamb Shanks ( bone and high fat content being volatile combo when encased in a bag)
I was only following the instructions on the box...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

If your microwave oven starts sparking and buzzing don't immediately think it's broken... Removing the mica waveguide cover and cleaning the remaining gravy from the exploding boil in the bag lamb shank seems to do the job :laugh5: I have now ordered a replacement waveguide... The new mica arrived ...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

I see the wry smile at the end of that comment Kev, I take it you have seen my news in the Driving Licence thread? I did, it's a ridiculous situation. I am fortunate that mine is just an advisory from the surgeon, I could choose to drive but if I was involved in an accident that involved any sort o...

Re: POLITICS CORNER

Kev, personally I've honestly never felt freer and safer and I've been here 15 years. As an example, we're supposed to carry our passports with us at all times; I never do, and I've never once been stopped and asked to show it. What would the consequences be if you were stopped and asked to show it?

What Ian wrote about his driving licence saga made me realise what a controlled society you live in. From cradle to grave! Time for Tooting Popular Front to rise again.
How does the UK compare with China (the country) for controlling society?

Still waiting for the third party to pay out in the car. Got some good news from the insurance company this morning, if I get a new MOT on the car I can just continue with the same policy. Result :good:

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Excellent Kev and the stitches, it should give you a fighting chance once those are out of the way of the bendy bits. Indeed, another 4 weeks on crutches to allow the new fibrous layer to grow on the joint faces and then back for more physio. Apparently I'm doing the right things and it's h...

First post op physio this morning, hopefully that will get recovery moving a bit, I'm bored using these crutches.
Stitches are coming out on Wednesday so that may loosen things up a bit too :-)
