Re: Old fashioned clean jokes

Dad joke alert... :biggrin2: The large pane of glass fell out of my front window & smashed, I called a glazier & he replaced it. Two days later the glass fell out again so I called the glazier back. While he was replacing the glass again I asked him why my glass keeps falling out he said “it...

Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Part two, it took a while to wire it in to the lighting circuit. The neutral loop was easy enough to find in the bathroom light, the live loop a little harder. I was expecting to find both loops in the light fitting but nay, the live loop is in the switches.

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

Fortunately I'm able to 'block' both my debit card, and credit card, in my banking app. Any queries are usually answered, within a couple of hours, using the chat facility. I can't remember the last time I physically spoke to the bank.

Kevin, re. the spam email we discussed. I rang the lady concerned and she is in hospital recovering after a successful operation. She knew about the spam and says that she has been told it is a common consequence of using the hospital wi-fi. Thanks for your help..... :good: A good example of you be...

Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Now I have proper access to the attic space I can move in to the next job, extractor fan for the bathroom. Biggest job was the 5in hole through the wall into the loft space. Took a while as the drill packed up halfway through, fortunately it was still under warranty so I bobbed out to Screwfix for a...

I am off to Harrogate today, via Grassington and Pately Bridge. The route is slightly quicker than the 'official' diversion through Ilkley. Lunch with youngest offspring and family, it's half term in Yorkshire so they're all off work :good: An interesting journey, the A59 was closed on the roundabo...

I see you have corrected the typo. I've spent all night wondering who Ali was and what was special about his cellar.

Watched episode one of Perfect Pub Walks with Bill Bailey, on Channel 4 catch-up. He was accompanied by Alan Davies and I found it an interesting watch, definitely going to watch the rest of the series.

Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Today's exciting job was to cut a hole in the ceiling and fit a new loft hatch and ladder. Fortunately it was a lot easier than expected as the upstairs ceilings are all plasterboard rather than laths and plaster :good: I fitted a light while I was up there too. Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I will be getting the jet wash out of the cellar to sort the flags and stone steps. I may seal them with an epoxy concrete sealer to see if that makes any difference, I used an outdoor sports court paint on the concrete outside the back door last year. It's green now but comes off easily with the ho...
