Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS

I am stretching my brain cells for this time of night, but I think our first holiday was in 2003.

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS

I am going to go back through some old holiday snaps on the computer tomorrow...I shall forward any interesting ones to Stanley ( though I doubt I have a direct view like that). I know we went to the Pendle shop (far right) asking if they might sell a VHS video of Barnoldswick ( think it was before ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Just think how good it will feel in the morning, to come downstairs, and see that lovely fresh looking window and surrounds as the first light comes through. We have an open bar area, and the twinkling of clean glassware always cheers me after I have put the effort in to washing all the glasses. ( a...

Quiche and Veg...
I have taken Chicken out of the freezer to make Curry tomorrow night. Might do that in the slow cooker if I find I get engrossed in Ancestry.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

We did a 3 hour walk instead of a bike ride this morning. My blood sugar was 6.0 when we got back ( yes...I had breakfast before we left) Toward the end of the walk I had wished I had put my folding walking stick in my bag....but I made it without it. I really enjoyed the walk. It was a relief to fi...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Dinner was delicious, though I am still struggling a bit to find the enthusiasm to cook. ( my husband will hoover up whatever I cook...but I just get fed up of putting the effort in night after night, and to be honest, he wouldn't know if he is eating Chicken or Fish or Beef!) it's like "ground-hog ...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

I've made us each a mini meatloaf for tonight. Have set them in their little tins in the fridge for cooking later. Not sure what Veg we will have yet (but I bought some lovely Sprouts this morning and I'm sure they will be involved).

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

Our previous microwave went through hell when our kids were younger. My stepson refused to use a plate for his food and always left a mess for others to clean up. He cooked everything too high and for too long, so everything burst and exploded and was a pain to clean. ( he has never changed...he is ...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

:surprised: I've never tried cooking boil-in-the-bag anything (!) but would not think it safe in the microwave to cook Lamb Shanks ( bone and high fat content being volatile combo when encased in a bag)
Most spill I've had in the microwave is a ring from hubby's night time drinking chocolate...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

We did our bike ride this morning as the weather was perfect for it. Rode for an hour ( don't ask for distance, Panbiker, as I couldn't tell you). We did the coastal path again, but went further today. It was really good fun. My doctor is thrilled that I am back to bike riding - he didn't expect suc...

Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Oh (gosh!) Don't....Stanley! Reminds me of the time we were out having a lovely meal...when an old timer on the next table sneezed...covering his plate with an ENORMOUS mound of mucus. We couldn't evacuate fast enough. Who could eat after that?! I don't wish to recall it, but it can not be forgotten...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

We are hoping the weather holds tomorrow for a bike ride in the morning. Then I have plans to get the sewing machine out...unless Ancestry gets me in its clutches instead. ( I have soooo much filing to do and tidying of files. Our billiard table is swamped in disorganised piles of paper. I keep maki...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Commiserations re your back, Stanley.
Finally some sunshine here today after a chilly, grey week. Didn't have to bundle up with mittens and scarf and coat for our walk...liberating!
I think everything aches more in the cold. Less complaints today! Amazing how sunshine raises the spirit.

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

I still have problems with my gait, Panbiker, and I know how it is to concentrate on EVERY step. Very cold here at present, and having numbness, it only seems to increase in the cold. Hubby noticed today that my gait wasn't right (could have strangled him for mentioning it) but I was indeed struggli...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Nothing so posh for my foldable walking stick purchased from the pharmacy. I haven't needed it for weeks now, so folded it up yesterday and threw it in a drawer. Comforting to know it is there if needed again...
