Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Going for a decent walk once hubby has cleared a few emails. Little else planned...as the weather isn’t up to much today. A good day to rest, as busier days planned for the rest of the week. Kids are on school holidays, so we shall avoid shops and shopping centres.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I can remember my former parents-in-law going on about “the Germans”.
Ha...then I discover his grandmother was German! ( and the family she came from became famous here for planting wine grapes etc and their industry still flourishes today)
Unbelievable...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I love Ancestry! My former parents-in-law were not allowed to date if either of them were Catholic. ( no doubt one of the first questioned asked, and cleared, neither of them were). I have done the rather lonely task of discovering my son’s paternal heritage. I had “one of those revealing moments” w...

Hubby did the lawns and edges. I trimmed plants. Then we did our walk. By then it was lunch time...
Caught up with some Sport on TV...
A quiet day. An easy dinner, likely an early night - that is Sunday done! :good:

Tiz...if it is the phone number of your local station...perhaps they don’t have time to connect dots. We live coastal/rural. I can imagine they may think you a nutter if you ring them with weird theories.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Maybe she has Coronavirus. I mean, they are hardly going to come out and say it are they? :surprised: I’ve just finished making a Lasagne for dinner tonight ( which took me about an hour). The whole time, the wind was howling around the house and it hailed. Another horrible, cold, wet day, with wind...

Re: Spam email

Hubby was listening to the radio this morning, whilst he worked, and was alerted to yet another scam. Someone contacts you by phone to say they are the police and have become aware some-one is trying to steal your identity. You are told you will be contacted later in the day by an officer who will g...

Shorts a still a while off here yet too - very slow start to Spring this year. Had a couple of days where we could wear a T-shirt for a few hours during the afternoon, but sat here today in a Polar Fleece again. Can only describe today as overcast with frequent showers. At least the wind has died do...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

When hubby “retired” 6 years ago, he was poached by a company who were happy for him to work from home ( drawing house plans and designing houses). In some ways it has worked well ( particularly during Covid as he is all set up here with computer drawings etc). So life hasn’t changed much for us, ex...

Blimey... that is quite a load. I would need a good deal of time to cope with that! ( how long are we talking, given that I do need to eat/sleep/pee at regular intervals) My hat off to Sally. My heaviest sewing was shade cloth for a pergola. My lightest sewing was lace inserted French knickers and b...

I have never charged for my sewing. If I have sewn for a wedding I consider it an honour, hope they love the result, and my time or skill is my gift to them. I have also sewn so many curtains, I have lost track. Double pleated, triple pleated, goblet tops, padded pelmets, nets, tie backs, whatever.....

Always advisable to wash fabric prior to using, Stanley. Most fabric has a certain shrinkage rate...and it is vital to know that once you make up a garment, it will retain it’s fit, and you have not wasted your time and effort. I have always found it standard practice, unless you are working with de...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Bought fabric to make 2 pairs of shorts. Summer is coming!
I have two patterns to choose from ( one I have used before). I might omit pockets. I might extend the leg length...decisions decisions.
Fabric has been washed and is still out on the line...once it is ironed, I think decisions will be easy.
