Re: Getting on...(camper van tales)

Back home, van emptied, washing done. Just the bedding to do tomorrow. Everything has a square edge, as Stanley would say.
Full of odd aches and pains today in my elbows and back...can't think why, as I've not done anything unusual and the caravan bed was comfy. Must be because we had to come home?

Re: Getting on...(camper van tales)

You meet some of the most delightful people in camp kitchens! People with wonderful stories to tell as they cook their dinner. Some travel with tents, so have little choice but to use camp kitchens. But camp kitchens are for the humble traveller, folk with kids etc. if you don't have any other choic...

Re: Getting on...(camper van tales)

No...that is an electric one we plug into the side of the van outside, when the weather is nice. I have a 2 burner gas hob inside the van ( with an overhead light/extractor fan). We also have the toaster oven which is electric and can be used inside or outside. It really depends on the weather and w...

Spring blossoms around the bottom of her dress, and her Spring Bonnet has shades of our Sydney Opera House in it's design.
Perhaps the hammer is to tilt the Earth a bit for Northern/Southern seasons.

Re: Getting on...(camper van tales)

We have had a fabulous few days. Heading home tomorrow I think. I've sent 3 pics to Stanley to insert on here. The one of our BBQ looks like we have a huge number of sausages for 2 people (!) so I need to explain that I asked the butcher for 6 sausages. He gave me 8, though I didn't know this until ...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

"In and Out" Cystoscopies are generally well tolerated and not problematic. It's the ones where they knock you out, remove tumours and leave a catheter in that cause a few more symptoms...because the bladder wall is irritated where the tumours have been removed and cauterised, and the catheter irrit...

Re: Getting on...(camper van tales)

Well one needs to be able to make it to the conveniences without visibly taking one step forward and two steps back, Wendy. (Which is hard enough in this strong wind). In fact, wine may be an asset. Gosh the BBQ did smell good. Hubby asked if I could run over and get him a sausage, but I refused. Go...

Re: Getting on...(camper van tales)

Away for 4 nights in the van...the first trip after Winter. We haven't gone far! Just 40 mins down the coast! But it is a good little break to get to know our van again. We are warm enough to wear shorts and T-shirts, though it was extremely windy today. It seems to be settling at dusk. So it hasn't...

We never take the off-cuts home. We have a "no junk" policy.
Apart from that, we have no imagination for 30cm off-cuts :laugh5:

I agree.
Only schmucks smoke!
My young neighbour smokes like a train. To hear him coughing up every morning is truly disgusting.

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

They also have to determine the aggressiveness of the cancer ( aggressive cancers quickly grow through the bladder wall and infiltrate bowel and bone). From the test results they can "stage" a cancer and determine a prognosis. Bladder cancers are among the easiest to treat. If you are an older gent ...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Yes...it's a CT you need, plus a visual Cystoscopy/ Biopsy to find and identify any cancer. Hubby had dozens of ultrasounds when he couldn't pee after surgery. A 2 min job done at the bedside, they could tell exactly how many mls of urine was in there! ( he thought he was going to burst and they wou...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

There were some awkward moments when things didn't flow too...
The bride and groom looked quite helpless at these moments. I felt quite stressed for them.
Oh well...job done... They are married! ( but I wouldn't have paid out a fortune for THAT ceremony!!!!) :laugh5:

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Watching "the wedding". Thought the bride looked lovely. I feel the whole thing rather condensed and rushed. ( is it just me? Even the walk down the aisle seemed quite quick and vows rushed too) Maybe they were charged by the quarter hour, or possibly Windsor had bookings after?! No Camilla. Double ...

We had one wild 2 hour ambulance ride from our local hospital to the city, Wendy ( haemorrhage). I followed the ambulance up the freeway in my little car. He had to go straight to theatre when he arrived. But last " look" was clear and we expect no less next month. We don't worry much any more. Noth...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

My hubby was diagnosed 22 months ago ( Christmas Week 2016 to be exact), has had numerous Cystoscopies and tumours removed twice. He has had a few set backs, but he is fine. Last Cystoscopy ( done in the specialist's office) was clear. Next one due next month. Bladder Cancer is more of a nuisance th...
