Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

I've poached a small Chicken Breast this morning. Tonight I will slice it thinly and lay it on some Foccacia Bread, with Cheese and Avocado...and grill it. Sunday nights are always easy. Dinner on trays in front of TV. We had three nights of Veg Soup this past week, so I am looking forward to the Ch...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Try making your own! Buy the meat locally, from a real Butcher, then you know what you are eating! I say this because we went out of our local area today, and wandered through shops we do not frequent. I was interested to compare prices of certain things, and I noticed meat labelled as if it was fro...

Hope you don't have to wait close to 7 weeks for your washer to be fixed, Sue. A long time to go without knickers! A long time when dealing with towels and sheets washed by hand too...even in warm weather. Our problem was that the only repairer in our country area went on holiday. We were covered by...

It does indeed, Wendy. But he knows right from wrong. ( and give him credit, he does take care of himself...and is doing a lot better than most single men in their eighties, who don't tend to do that well statistically) Feeding oneself decent food is not the only sign of health in people ( especiall...

I'm just interested to know how the Suffrage Movement affected/influenced people's lives at "the kitchen table level". Re: MAJESTIC CINEMA AND MATT HARTLEY.

My mother was born on Ellis Street, in 1933. My gran lived there until early 70's when she left to come to live with my mother in Australia) Mum used to frequent the Majestic as a teen, and has told me about the blackout curtains in WW2. She didn't have far to walk home, but her Dad would suddenly a...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

Whilst I will always push the "high veg intake" path, I am no Guru, Stanley! ( i think Wendy and Colin are more correct in their message) None of us live forever. We are still limited by our lifestyle, genes and family history. But...we all need to have fun and be kind on ourselves without becoming ...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

( don't laugh) We had something of a pong in our kitchen today. I first detected it when I had the cutlery drawer open this morning and an odour floated out as I used the kitchen scissors and returned them to their place, had a quick look in the drawer looking for an obvious source of "the pong"...f...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

We have it from time to time. I quite like taking a nibble and having a cup of coffee. However, things go in cycles, and we both aren't enjoying coffee at all at present. I have 2 cups in the morning, but am back to a pot of "proper made" tea at lunch, and then plain old WATER from lunchtime until t...
