Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Yesterday we had 36C and we sweltered. Last night we had quite a storm that resulted in over 80 State Emergency Service call-outs. Today we had 21C and the next two days will be about 15C with rain. Typical Spring weather, it doesn't seem to know what it's doing.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013

Well... The big red truck , all lit up like a Christmas tree has arrived with the message 'It feels good to give '. And... Last weekend more than 300,000 kids - young and old - came out to watch and cheer on a huge parade of very happy characters, lots on floats, lots on foot, singing playing and da...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I mainly sleep on my stomach , my pillow is the inside of a cushion wrapped in a pillowcase. Can't be doing with 'normal' pillows, they give me neck ache problems. The whole lot goes easily into the washing machine too.

Heard the saying 'milling about', to me it means standing around, seemingly doing not much.
Can only find - 'Grist to the mill', grinding oats etc.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Tonight's help is just one of the many many things that has been done to help the farmers over many months. One thing that has surfaced is that a lot of the farmers need (and are receiving) help with their mental state.
All very sad. 😞

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

There's a big music concert / national fundraiser on tonight called Hay Mate. It's for our NSW and Queensland Farmers. Some of these areas have been in drought for 16years and some of the kids in these areas have never seen rain! Can you believe it... I don't know how these farmers, their families, ...

Wendy if your new (and absolutely gorgeous) new kitten was a boy, I would call it Sylvester as it looks just like the Looney Tunes cat.

Sorry to the lady who went over the cliff, but in my head I suddenly had the last scene of the movie Waking Ned Divine where the nasty old woman goes over the edge in her wheelchair. I always cheer at that bit. Very good movie.

Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Have we touched on the old Bank Pass Book's. A rep from a bank would come to your school and sign up the very young students with a Pass Book Savings Account. Whenever you deposited an amount the book would be stamped. They would also give you a money box that were shaped like pigs and called Piggy ...
