Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
I think it was part of Andrew Marr's show the lady under question said that they thought that the immune system had a very short memory of this particular virus. ie: you could catch it again. The good news was that they would be using a virus type in their vaccine that promoted a longer immune respo...

Sue you know what your body will withstand and why you are doing it. Sounds reasonable to me. Horses for courses.
Preparing for our pensioners shopping at Sainburys then back home for the obligatory cup of tea. then starting Mrs P's good idea in the garden. Another easy day.

Sue just a bit concerned that you felt you had to take paracetamol before yoga. The pain is there to tell you to stop. Heat, massage and Voltarol is about the best I can suggest. What am I doing today? The same as usual, sticking the spades, forks in and out of the ground to stop them going rusty. I...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner
Reading one of those advisory e-mails on the coronavirus, as one does in these times, the opening statement left me a little confused. It stated that the virus was a protein therefore not alive. Its structure being such that it had a wax coating and being delicate would degrade quickly if not absorb...

I like the archway and the heavy coving . These are some of the first features that disappear in new builds. Fancy architrave and broad skirting boards are among the first things to bite the dust.

This isn't the time for blame but some very clear headed responses to the bleeding obvious like the stupidity of a country with a viable fashion industry waiting helplessly for deliveries from low wage economies bought solely on price. How can it be cheaper to pay 80% of wages and have them do noth...

Just been over to Oddies in Colne to pick up some fabric for scrubs. Oddies normally only supply wholesale but are providing smaller lengths for the home sewers supporting the NHS. Sally ordered 25m on the phone, paid for it by card and we had to ring them once in the car park and they brought it o...

What is happening now is an attempt to keep the fossil fuel industry going at the expense of global warming. Not only are we talking oil and gas but coal is still a big industry in the US. As they say the stone age didn't come to an end because they ran out of stone and the same applies to fossil fu...

Migrant workers are effectively held in rural isolation as they live on site. Nowhere to go anyway, no shops, no pubs, everything is shut. I would assume anyone showing symptoms would be further isolated. About 1,800 workers have been signed up to pick our crops and put food on our tables. Over 3 m...

Am I right in thinking the Keith Richards is the single songwriter for the Rolling Stones. I don't like the Rolling Stones or the lifestyle they portray. I can understand you having a laugh, rather a bleak outlook isn't it, looking at what's left if they are the only ones who survive. . Earing aids ...

I can understand the pressure rising in America to lift the lockdown especially when there is little or no social support for those at the bottom of the heap. Allowing more transport, re airlines, within the confines of America will only extend the suffering within the country. The big problem will ...

In the past I've 'bent' spanners for all kinds of access reasons but to buy a proprietary make would imply something like working down in a rocker box timing mechanism. Not a lot of experience on diesel engines so I can't say in this respect.

Research by the Centre for Cities assesses 62 places in the UK to find which has most employees vulnerable to lay-offs. Link Burnley features as No 10 most affected towns / cities. I can't understand why it comes so high on the list compared to holiday resorts or airline trade. Maybe because even in...

I'm not a fan of using poison in the garden although I must admit I have a very small quantity less than ½ pint of concentrate industrial grade poison Normally its a last resort after everything has died back. As far as the ex-vegetable patch is concerned I won't be using it.

Sorry about that Stanley but are you sure you didn't blue over it and then touch a key? I found that if I blued it over to copy but then left the action (blueing) in place unwittingly it would be cancelled.
