Re: Early Yorkshire Charters

Hi Kev,

Thanks for the response. The one on Archive is Vol. 3 (which I already have, along with 1 & 2).

Regards, Phil.

Early Yorkshire Charters

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have a copy of Early Yorkshire Charters Vol VII - The Skipton Fee? I'm after an entry on page 227 about John de Merclesden.
I now live in Kent and the libraries down here don't hold much about 'up North.'

Thanks, Phil.

Re: Blakey

Hi Stanley, Thanks for the post. I've tried both these sources with no luck. I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that Blakey was a forunner or perhaps an alternative name for Blacko - Warner agrees with this in his History of Barnoldswick. I've got JAC's Admergill book on order - that may give me so...

I was originally assuming the area extended from Wanless (ie Blakey Hall Farm) westward to Pendle Water (at Higherford). A deed from 1340 gives the area as 'the bounds of thi...

Re: Account of the court rolls of the manor of Gisburne

Hi Wendy/Stanley,

Thanks for the responses. Already tried both these;the eBay item is ended, and I live in Kent - so Clitheroe library is difficult.

Cheers, Phil

Account of the court rolls of the manor of Gisburne

Hi All,

Does anyone known if the shortform publication (32 pages) 'An account of the court rolls of the manor of Gisburne' by WS Weeks, published by the Clitheroe Advertiser in 1922 is available online? I've tried all the usual book sources on the web, but no joy so far?

Thanks Phil.

Re: MORE DE LACY PROBLEMS

Hi, Does anyone know if there is a translation of the Chartulary of Kirkstall Abbey? I am researching my family history; in this case Richard de Merclesden, Master Forester of Blackburnshire, including the Chace of Penhull (as it was then) from about 1327 to 1345. He was involved as part of this dis...
