Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
Well done Oliver! Stanley, I had a walk round Pinhaw and Standrise on Sunday. Just got out of the car to be greeted with 30+ oxygen/gas canister things all over the floor. I thought it sounded a bit crunchy when we drove in to the laybay and parked up. A couple were sat in their car wondering what t...

Re: Drone - Carleton in Craven
Hi Ian, Other than using Google Maps as a base layer to give some rough idea on where the overlay is, it has all been processed using OpenDroneMap. Whilst its not really direct replacement for LIDAR(That can see through vegetation), Its not bad for the cost involved. I think the resolution of these ...

Drone - Carleton in Craven
Well, Over lockdown I managed to save and purchase myself a Drone. I've flown it around with all the usual taking pictures and videos, but now I've decided to get serious and put some effort in to see what can be achieved with One Man and his Sub £1000, DJI Phantom 4 :) Elevation imagery I guess? Or...

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS
I hope they sparked something for ya Stanley! I've had a look around Esp lane and the area, and the O.S. Maps. and I will definitely get there. After 33 years on the planet I might have actually found something I really damn well enjoy! The bird has a new camera and loved the meadow on the way to St...

Correct! Stocks it is. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Lnp79ypZ_fzPPvAsIhRmUxeOX1ZBYDjr/view?usp=sharing I picked a copy up of Vera Brearey's book on Thorntons old road yesterday, thought it would be rude not to drive on and have a nosey around Barlick for some new places to take pictures of. https...

Here are a few of Carleton in Craven. Mainly focused on the earthworks at the rear of the church, in line with the present "Old Hall"
Will be taking some closer ones once all livestock is back indoors.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I've decided to start writing a blog/diary on my daily thoughts during these odd times. I guess it takes up some of the free time on an evening and hopefully share some information that I find interesting..
Guess it might be handy to others to keep a diary on this?

There is an entry on the Carleton tithe map for a Jeremiah Harrison owning a field. Might not mean much but its something.

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS
I've made a minor pact with myself to walk with the dogs to any local historical place at least once a week. Tonight we took the car up onto the moor and went for a walk round Ransable Hill looking for the source of Carletons beck. The dogs duly found Ransable well in search of a quick drink and the...

Would it be worth looking to put OGFB on its own low cost VPS? Or maybe an AWS instance?
