Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I made a slow cooked casserole with shin beef and root vegetables, I made a few dumplings seeing as we have grafted at the allotment all day and I made a sago pudding too.
I was interested to read on the packet that sago in the packet are seeds off the sago plant.
There's enough for tomorrow too.

Re: DIALECT AND WORD MEANINGS
Crumpets are cooked in a ring, Pikelets mixture is just ladelled onto the hotplate and is therefore thinner. A milkcake is a very large pikelet. I used to help make and pack crumpets at Stanleys crumpets as a kid. I use the word lopid alot , it means really dirty and in need of a good clean. My chap...

Julie, my bacon hotpot is potatoes and onions layered up plenty of salt and pepper , then a 1/4 pint of stock over ,cooked in the oven for a couple of hours then the bacon goes on the top for the last 20 minutes . I like it with spring cabbage but today we had it with beans.

We are having left overs of roast pork with veg and the crumble tonight. I have noticed Chubby has started selling fresh fish. I love fish pie but it...

I can remember having mummers come and sweep our hearth in the mid 70's. I found it scarey too but I was only 4 years old
