Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
That seems to have stumped you! Remember the small cast iron key I posted which was used for tightening the fasteners used to join leather belts in the Mill? I came across one of the buttons the other day and that's what it is. Have a crack at this one: http://oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/gallery/image.p...
Re: GOOD TV
I watched the same programme Comrade. Good clear programme that rang true all the way through. Tragic the way we exploited those poor animals. But then the whole bloody war was tragic....

Plain tomato butty on home made bread with Heinz salad cream. Very refreshing..... Taste of summer.
Re: Nostalgia
The midwife who succeeded Edie (Was it Nurse Hunt?) took offence one night in 1962 as we were sat in the kitchen waiting for Vera to fall to pieces when I referred to her as the 'rabbit catcher'. Much boiling of water and burning parcels on the incinerator in the orchard. Those were the days!

PUBLIC SERVICE CUTS
Time we had this back I think. Remploy factories are to go and the Tory lady says in PMQs that all the 1700 people who will lose their jobs have to do is go out and get new jobs. If it wasn't so tragic it would be laughable. The most vulnerable people in society suffer because of Political and finan...

Eileen, no problems with my teeth after pot gobbler insertion 53 years ago. Still got the same ones! Sue, glad to hear the Ladslove has survived. Thought about you last night as I sat in front of the fire with my feet being massaged by the UA3 Memorial foot spa. (it's a long story Kids if you are ba...

David, 'foreigner' has always been the description I have known. I think I heard 'homer' in the Midlands around 1970.

Re: Lies, damned lies and statistics
I'm afraid that like a lot of other people I have gone numb over Afghanistan. We should never have been in there and the deaths at present are solely due to the 'leaders' trying to massage their exit strategy. All the evidence is that the area falls to pieces as soon as troops come out and then they...

Re: ENERGY MATTERS
They should look at what is happening in the real world. God alone knows how ordinary people run cars these days. Got a shock this morning when CH kicked in while I was in the bathroom (The boiler is in there). Then I realised it was the auto run that kicks in occasionally to make sure the fan and p...

Re: POLITICS CORNER
Any piece of 'good news' is welcome at the moment. Pensions go up but when you look at the real inflation of necessities which is about 10/15% we are marking time. The Coalition is holding its breath and treading water until they get a clear idea of how the EU debacle is going to pan out. One could ...

They're still out there Bodge. They just need triggering off again. SC has been such a big topic in the past and it may need a bot of help to get it going again. Earth to demo men and jacks!

Not sure how the following fits in or if there are any clues. It was posted on the site in 2010. The original black text below is taken from OGFB web site. The alterations are to make it agree with the details in Frank Sellers (1880-1961) red note book. JOHN SELLERS 1792. (BROTHER GEORGE 1794) Born...

I did the same for my kids Wendy, made sure I left them some clues as to who their dad was! Good idea of Ian's, anything you post helps preserve the memory and trigger others. What OG is all about.
