It was definitely an indoor day yesterday.
That it was Sue.... And up to now today is going to be the same. I have decided there is nothing in the town that won't wait until tomorrow when I think it might be slightly more clement!
I hope your demonstration goes well in Haslingden.... :biggrin2:

https://www.oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/app.php/gallery/image/28533/medium My first task this morning was to install the packing in the piston rod gland. Dead easy..... I don't think! It involved re-threading the studs and in all it took me just over half an hour to fit it to my satisfaction. Next I to...

Re: Seen in the News

I can remember many years ago Arthur Mee (Publisher of the 'Children's Newspaper') tried to publish a 'good news' paper and it failed miserably. See THIS for the news that grabs the attention these days. Nearly one in five teachers in England has been hit by a pupil this year, a survey commissioned ...

There are lots of old B&W Universal 'B' movies on YouTube, many of them Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce starring as Holmes and Watson. Not demanding, crystal clear sound, no zooms or flash backs. In short, very relaxing entertainment!

Yesterday afternoon descended into wind and rain. At 20:00 we had heavy rain. First thing this morning we still had the breeze and cloud but it was dry. It is still the same. The glass fell even further and is now down at 967mb and falling. I checked yesterday and this is an accurate reading, one of...

Every report I hear about rail ticketing these days is a complaint. What happened to the days when you bought a ticket and got on a train? Is it because nowadays it is digitally recorded and is so complicated it can't be changed to make it acceptable?

I've looked and I can't see a way of altering Gedit to stop it doing what it's doing.

Cars and ticking clocks. Small things make perfection, but perfection is no small thing. Henry Royce. “Rolls-Royce,” as a compound noun or adjective, signals high quality (often, high price) in a consumer good. In the last century it has been applied to pianos, perambulators, and Persian rugs. In 20...
