Re: Is it just me ....

Tizer, relational bullying is something that has recently been recognised and describes behaviour which harms others through damage or threat of damage to friendships or group inclusion. This can include manipulation, controlling, belittling, demeaning, rejecting and exclusionary behaviours in a soc...

Re: SPEAKER'S CORNER

If anyone - priest , teacher or lay person who has a duty of care to children and fails to act to prevent or stop abuse by another is not only failing in that duty but is also content to let the abuse go unchecked then they should be charged with ariding and abetting a crime and have the full force ...

Re: Is it just me ....

I feel strongly that we should not be looking to cater for young people in any specific way - particularly through chat rooms. If youngsters have an interest in the site by all means encourage it but I would not wish to see another platform that could be used for cyber bullying or relational bullyin...

Re: GOOD TV

Has anyone been watching Borgen, one of the Danish TV productions that BBC 4 have shown over the past 12 months. Subtitles but that doesn't detract from good story lines and excellent acting. Even better that "The Killing". Try to catch the repeats if you like good political drama and intr...

Re: Is it just me ....

I'm not sure that by including the things Doc mentions that young people would necessarily be attracted to the site- they can get their fill of music, video , games etc. elsewhere and I think that chat rooms are a igb no go area - ideal place for paedophiles to contact youngsters and supervision wou...

When was the car park on Brook Street a Market. I lived on Garden Street from 1950 to 1960 and I can't remember it. I do remember the indoor one at the Majestic though. Nolic

Pete, Didn't the Whiteoaks have Broadstones ? Do you know if anyone is in touch with them as they might have some knowledge? Re: Barlick War Memorial Research

Ian, many thanks for the report on my dad in your last post. Given the nature of his wound which took off all the muscle at the back of his shin,I'm surprised he was walking at all so soon after the injury. I posted on the old site about him meeting the Queen at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and telling...

Re: Oh dear!

I think the new format threw us all. I am not a technical person and in many ways I'm a Luddite in hating change but I think Doc has got it absolutely spot on with the new site. Posting pictures and clips/hyper links is quite straightforward and the general posting options with previews and a spell ...
