Re: GOOD TV

Me too, there is not much that draws me to sit in front of the tv at the moment. I would watch the vet programmes but Col doesn't like to see any blood. :laugh5:

I've got my outside jobs done, tidied the kitchen and I'm sat watching the Yorkshire Vet and waiting for A House Through Time. Looking forward to it!

I took this photo of our 'working roof' this morning on the way back down the hill after delivering some strawberries next door.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Can anyone explain why the infection rate in London is now lower than anywhere else in the country? I'm sure people aren't obeying the lockdown rules any better than elsewhere, so is the virus losing its power there or have enough people already been infected?

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I hardly ventured out yesterday apart from the morning walk round the field (with walking poles for support) and essential trips to feed poultry and ponies. I braved the poly tunnel for a while to pick strawberries but it wasn't a pleasure! I've gone back into my thermals today in the hope that it f...

It was quite scary Cathy and I'm glad it was daylight so we could see what was happening. I don't like high winds at all! A sore knee is causing me problems at the moment ( too much kneeling in the garden probably), so I'm quite content to be on light duties in the house.

Re: ENERGY MATTERS

If you want to attempt to build one Col and his friend Rog still have the parts for a few more somewhere though the stock of inverters ran out a couple of years back! I've had a short lecture on our morning walk round the fields. We can see 5 other turbines of different types on our walk. All need g...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

We were attacked yesterday by one of the large plastic trugs I use for gardening. It was in the back yard about a quarter full of weeds and other stuff but around midday it had emptied itself and was knocking on the back door! The wind creates a vortex out there and the trug was circling up to a met...

I thought that the larger wind turbine installations were already matched to the grid. Smaller domestic ones when they are not shaking your building apart would also supply AC but perhaps not of the correct frequency perhaps Wendy could comment on this aspect. My understanding of the technology is ...

Back at the beginning of April I reported that Col was feeling unsettled about our full oil tank and the fall in the price of oil. He couldn't let it lie. While I have been enjoying my wonderful life full of sunshine, walking, weeding and ponies he has been beavering away causing me worry, stress an...

It must have been Susan who foretold the yellow flower. You can see now that the top leaves are a different shape and wrap around the stem .... spot on for a smooth sow thistle!

The night they drove old Dixie down ... Virgil Caine is my name and I drove on the Danville train. 'Til so much cavalry came and tore up the tracks again. In the winter of sixty-five, we were hungry, just barely alive. I took the train to Richmond that fell. It was a time I remember, oh, so well. I...

I hope it sorts the problems out for Mrs Tiz. It took about 10 days for my throat to settle and now the slight disturbances in my vision have gone too which must have been caused by damage to the surface of my eye. There is more plastic waste involved in the Monopost drops as they are in daily dose ...

Here's a pic of Dennis and Bing Bong Bella the other night when I brought them inside because it was warm and still! Somewhere I also have a photo of what Sparky did to his tail whilst he was in his stable. 🙂

Re: PET'S CORNER

They are still getting a dose every night Gloria, but to be honest it has been mostly cool and breezy for the last few weeks so not a good test! Both boys seem very happy and well at the moment but I have my usual problem of one needing to keep weight off and the other needing to put it on. Dennis a...
