Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I hope you have an interesting day in Stockport tomorrow Stanley.
We are settling a new kitten into the menagerie, she is a rescued kitty who had to have a back leg amputated as ìt had been badly broken early in her life. She is lovely, and hopefully will be OK with all our animals!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

A bit of a treat for me today, I'm picking a friend up from Earby later this morning and we are off to the Rohan outdoor clothing shop in Long Preston where there is a sale on. I have my eye on some waterproof winter walking trousers which are in the sale at a price I can afford. Just. We will then ...

Re: A SENSE OF PLACE.

We had a visitor to the Earby History Society Archive Room a while back who was looking at the connections between the landscape and culture of an area. Because it's Saturday night I can't remember the term he used for his study, I'll have a think about it. I regret not having close connections to a...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

We watched "Local Hero" last night, always a treat and one of my all time favourite films. I was struck by how young all the actors looked, Peter Capaldi, Denis Lawson, Jenny Seagrove all looking fresh from school! What really attracted my attention was that it was filmed 35 years ago.....I had to g...

Sorry to hear your hubby's problems are ongoing Maz. Col hasn't had any recurrence of the cancer, all his problems were caused by infections post op and post cystoscopy.

I've heard numpty used quite a lot to describe someone who does something stupid. It sounds quite affectionate doesn't It? No idea about the other two.

I was distracted by the background scenery as it didn't look local, so I went looking for an Australian breed as Gloria did. It must be Buttercup then!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

The Earby Band book launch went very well yesterday...... people came, 65 books sold and the band put on a fine performance! This morning I shall be trying to make space in the freezer for half a lamb. This evening I'm off to Ilkley to listen to Simon Armitage reading from his translation of Sir Gaw...
