Re: Wildlife Corner

I do all the moving in our house P. When my daughter still lived at home I often had to rescue her from sometimes the tiniest of money spiders who she said was "looking at her". Totally irrational of course, I have tried my level best to educate other members of the family and taking a quote from FD...

Re: POLITICS CORNER

Whatever happened to the court ruling on the first letter? It's probably been conveniently forgotton and almost certainly not even noticed by the electorate in general. This also true for all the other lies and downright breaking of the law. The goldfish memory of the electorate coupled with the he...

Re: Landline Telephones

My landline is to deliver broadband in the main. The telephone side of things is a bonus and with the call barring etc works quite well. When you commission a new line from Open Reach you are allocated a new mumber from the pool,, it needs the number as it is part of the lines ID at the exchange. Wh...

Re: Wildlife Corner

We keep all our spiders inside, they are not there by accident. In winter the larger female ones come inside for a more temperate climate for mating, the males follow them. We currently have a pair of large garden or house spiders in the living room. They come out for a trot from time to time, We al...

Landline Telephones

I had an issue yesterday with the landline. Incoming calls when answered just kept ringing but with a buzzing type ring. No dial tone if you wanted to make an outgoing call. The VDSL side and the fibre braodband component of the line was fine apart from a slight drop in speed from my normal 39mbps t...

If it has been trapped inside for a few days it will need a feed, I reckon that will be its first priority, high metabolic rate so they need the fuel.

Re: Wildlife Corner

One of our cats used to catch them by launching from the bird table in the front garden. He always brought them in carefully in his mouth, unharmed and then let them go! I found the best way to capture them was to shut the doors into the room and wait until they had enough of flying round and needed...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

There was an information display in the Radiology waiting area. It displayed intersting facts about the tech they have in the department. I didn't know that the very first MRI scnner was invented in 1971. No moveable table and the device would only do head scans which took over two hours to gather t...

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS

As Stanley says above they are just a representation of what you would see on the field boundary. Single trees that are noted on maps are often older pollarded specimins which were good landmarks, others shown may be on the junctions of footpaths or byways, again significant for navigation at ground...

Why do I get the feeling that Johnson is always tying to sneak something through the backdoor in an underhand fashion?
Beacause he is a pathological liar and will use any dodgy procedure to further his own ends.

We set off alittle earlier for Skipton this morning as Sally had some tickets previously ordered that she needed to get from the machine at the station for her trip next week to pick up Ruby for half term. That sorted we got our tickets for Leeds and found there was an earlier train we could get. So...

Car to Skipton, train to Leeds. Meet daughter Carla and our Isla for lunch then bus up to Jimmy's. Half an hour lie down in their MRI scanner. Reverse route home but missing the Slug and Lettuce in the middle. :extrawink:

Re: BE Bosom Friends Centre - 2, Green Street

Sparks was in the other week and two double sockets have appeared at ceiling level above where the display will go. I would have preferred them in the roof space but taking a tile out and checking, I can see that there was not enough clearance to shove them up there. I have signed the group up to a ...

Re: Blood Donors

At blood donors the blue nurse is the senior nurse in charge of the session, the equivalent of a ward sister in hospital. Safety of the blood stock at the donation session rests with her. If you tick any of the the yes boxes on the medical questionnaire she comes to interview you and you get the Spa...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

Is the cap intact on the connector block on the aerial.? Water ingress can also cause signal degradation and this is a common cause. Digital signals in an urban location are much more critical than the old analogue TV. Buildings, trees etc, in fact anything in the signal path can have a knock on eff...

Pixilation and signal breakup on digital services is usually associated with the antenna system. On terrestrial systems it could be that you aerial is slightly off beam with regard to the transmitter. Has it moved in the recent windy conditions?

I was bounced for a week on my dental appointment when I had my filling sorted. No knock on there for my next session as I'm well clear now. Since then though I have received my appointment for my MRI scan which is this Sunday. My donor session is at the end of the month, about 10 days later. Will h...

DUP, Labour and Liberals are against the deal and will not vote in favour. Meanwhile Boris is trying to get the EU to refuse another extension so as to focus minds. I don't think that will work as we have been here before and the EU are as reluctant as opposition parties here to avoid a no deal. It ...

Extremism in any political situation is not to be recommended. Look at the situation in Syria at the moment. The Turks were quite happy to let the Kurds do the brunt of the fighting against ISIS, now of course they regard them as terrorists. We (Govt of the United Kingdom) are also looking to prosec...

She has jumped before being pushed having lost a confidence vote by her own Constituency members. She confuses support for oppressed and dis...
