Re: BE Bosom Friends Information and Fund Raising Events
One of our friends and regular supporters, Ellie rocked up yesterday with the proceeds from a Beating the Bounds walk that she organised with friends from the Greyhound pub who provided food and refreshments after the event. The walk, roughly based on the jaunt round the town boundaries raised a mag...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
Our local news is that the large retail premises left empty by the removal of our local gym to another venue in the town has allowed a firm call Hickey Bars Ltd to step in and they are going to open a bar with a music license on our main shopping street leading to Town Square. That will make five b...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I used to get allergy triggered migraine which came on in my late 20's. It was triggered with coffee or cold corned beef! I have not drunk coffee for over 40 years. I can eat corned beef if it is cooked in any way. Doc said it was probably the preservatives. When I went fishing, corned beef sandwich...

Just got back from dropping Ruby and Sally at Skipton Station. Ruby will be going all the way to Stratford but she has to change stations in Birmingham. Sally goes with her to Leeds to see her off on the Birmingham train which needs a hop of a few platforms at Leeds from where the Skipton train gets...

In the local part of the forest that Is Pendle Council, all 20 Labour Councillors have resigned and are now serving and will stand at the forthcoming elections as Independents! This has put the cat among the pigeons somewhat and is the first time since I have been involved in local politics, (around...

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS
You can always encounter Morris Men when Malham has it's events on. I well remember the jingle stick man holding up the traffic coming into the village from the top road as the troupe were doing their thing in the middle of the road. He announced with a devilish grin, "this dance is a tradition...

I can find nothing wrong at the moment Stanley. Just done a test post and it was instantaneous. Server Stats just now:
CPU 13.74%
Ram 33%
HD used 45GB, Free 65GB
Any particular topic that you are having problems with?

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
I have expanded in the other thread but your experiences with the site are probably due to being active through the night during maintenance at the hosts. I think the problem was probably with a DNS server at IONOS.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
I think yesterday intermittent site slowdown and other sundry problems are down to a dodgy DNS server at the hosts. The slowdown looked suspiciously like another DDos attack with the server CPU ramped up to 100% and the RAM also at 100% usage. I checked the 8000 line long proxy error log and cloned ...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
You can see the problem in Stanley's posts from Bob in Bobs Bits. Basically its displaying the unicodes for single and double quotes, open and close. Leads me to suspect an incorrect selection in Stanley's editor which he normally uses to edit Bob's emails. Bits of the story in Bobs bits as well Pet...

I have just checked in a text editor I use (Notepad++). The settings for toggling unicode and other normally hidden characters is in the View menu.

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
Now onto Stanley's Text Editor problems. Peter may come in handy here as he probably uses the same one.
Long story short. Stanleys Text Editor is shoving unicode into his edits for Bobs Bits.

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
I dread anything like that where I have to talk to 'an agent' who almost always has an accent and gabbles. I simply can't understand them. (And I don't have Janet to interpret for me.) I hope it has been sorted out Peter. For that reason I always use a chat option if available. You get the added bo...
