Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

There is a massive Solar Storm is hitting the planet at the moment, the index has been up as far as 261.4nT. That is a red alert level and is nearly as far as the register goes. Not quite dark enough yet and if the storm continues this level means that you may be able to see the aurora anywhere in t...

Re: Spam email

I received a text on my mobile this morning supposedly from Hermes. Apparently they have missed delivering my parcel that I didn't order! I could get re-delivery if I clicked the link they sent!

Re: POLITICS CORNER

This is a direct attack on the democratic process and an individuals right to vote. I would have no problem if we all had a National Identity Card but unfortunately some folk don't have any of the required validation. In the trials the other year Pendle Council issued a voting pass but individuals h...

I don't need to look it up Maz I still remember you telling me that Bladder cancer was nothing to worry about and how it hurt me at the time. I told you then that you should pipe down, my brother lost his prostate and his bladder to it and eventually his life. The fact that Stanley has survived is ...

I think we should mention that the Police Commissioner role went from Labour to the Tories as well. Folk have obviously forgotten that it was the Tories that sacked 50,000 officers, oh well.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Has anyone else noticed that the media (BBC at least) have downgraded the infection in our country to an epidemic. They shove a caveat on the end to say that there is still a global pandemic though.

Aye, and the younger ones won't believe you when you say that it only seems a blink of an eye since you were 30 as well. :extrawink:

Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Plumber has been and removed the radiator in the bedroom. It's a double panel job so wont fit under the window without sticking out it will be replaced with a new wider but thinner one that will fit nicely under the window bottom. I can crack on with my decorating now, remnants of paper to come off ...

Ian, taking it easy is a good idea. These jabs are powerful wee beasties and should be treated with respect! I came to as the day progressed, managed to bake a couple of loaves. Soreness gone from arm and am back to normal today, Sally was the same although she was rough for three days with...

Re: POLITICS CORNER

If it's like the normal practice she will have been cajoled by David. Quite a few of the councillors claim not to be Lib Dems but have all been elected on that ticket. There is a constant turn round of the "none Lib Dems" when the penny drops that they have to agree with the family Whipp or that's h...

I forgot to mention that Sally received a FB message yesterday from Mandy Boardman who was the Lib Dem candidate that won the Coates seat in the by-election. It was a nice message in which she said that she hoped she could be as good a councillor as Sally has been in the past. She also added that sh...

I checked out bus fares in Manchester. Buy a ticket All quite straightforward. Lost the will to live. I'd prefer to stay at home. Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Our jabs went fine yesterday in Burnley. One thing I noticed was that there are now three centres in Burnley dishing out the vaccine. Once booked in we had to queue for about half an hour. There were a lot of folk there, the roll out now to the under 40's of course who were getting their first go. O...

I have had communication with Doc as well about the domain we hold for him. He says he used it mainly for weather reports. Re: POLITICS CORNER

One thing we should note is the streak of green running through Burnley. I believe five Green Party councillors were elected at the Borough elections. The only saving grace I see in this tranche of elections and it's cold comfort but the Tories now have the lot. Government, County and Borough and ca...
