I love Crete been 15 times. The food is superb my favourite's are Fasolia, tiropita, and Dakos unfortunately they don't agree with Dave and he bloats up with this type of food so although they are considered good for you they are not suitable for all. Eileen

It stayed dry pm but rained last night and still raining this morning. At the moment it is dry but very overcast so Sue the weather isn't much better here in Brittany. We also love the lakes and whilst staying a couple of years ago decided to do some walks so copied Wainwrights walks and laminated t...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Not pleasant Stanley and I have had surgery 3 times due to scar tissue. The gas bubble they put in this last time was in my line of vision for 9 weeks before it disappeared. The gas can also cause a cataract to form, had one removed and a new lens on the 2nd op but they think I may need another remo...

I remember as a child there always being a bottle of olive oil on the mantelpiece keeping it warm then if anyone of us got earache (not the verbal kind) olive oil was put in the ear with cotton wool. I suffered it regular until my tonsils and adenoids were removed.Eileen

Lucky you Wendy I love record offices. We are going out for a birthday lunch to a local restaurant 3 courses. coffee and as much wine as you want for 11 euro's. Dave hates this particular restaurant but it's not his birthday he'd sooner have quality rather than quantity. Eileen

Re: THE FLATLEY DRYER

Know the feeling Stanley my mother bought me a school skirt which was down to my calves said I would grow into it. Mini skirts were the norm so I rolled it up round the waist only my waist was 4 inches wider. When I got to my fourth year when instructed to get it cleaned ready for my fourth year I h...

Re: THE FLATLEY DRYER

I only ever had sensible shoes when I was young mainly because only having small feet couldn't get fashion shoes to fit me in my teens. My friends had winkle pickers and stiletto's in their early teens but only took size 1 to their size 4/5 so couldn't get them to fit me. Eileen

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

On the cataract Stanley I don't think you'll have a problem. Two of my brothers have had them done and they were out and about within hours. They put a patch over it for coming home but told to remove as soon as they got home. Neither needed their glasses for distance. The downtime with retinal surg...

I agree with Chinatyke on the hard work that goes into keeping this site working. Will make a donation when I get back to the UK won't be much but little is better than nothing. Haven't done it earlier as I was waiting for the 2013 target and as you know I haven't been able to use the site much due ...
