Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Broughton Hall is indeed the location for tomorrow's exams. Just had dinner, stuffed, don't think I will ever need to eat again! Had a pint of Ilkley Black which is holding the belly pork and trimmings in place. My grandma would be upset that I didn't clear the plate, but pleased that I left a polit...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Am in the Tempest. Stopped at a couple of places on the journey - Bath St and Ringstone Crescent, Nelson - childhood memories flooded and so did my eyes. Carried on to Earby where grandad spent some of his childhood, located (at last) the Earby mining museum - one day I will get there. Can define HA...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Sorry back to topic, for a lot of today I shall be traveling north listening to exam notes on the way. Yoo-hoo! Thinking about staying over a 2nd night as I may not be in the frame of mind for Friday commuter traffic. Looking for somewhere comfortable to stay, think there's a farmhouse in Barrowford...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I think it was a Bill Cosby routine talking about parents and children through the ages, where Mozart's father stood at the bottom of the stairs yelling to the young Mozart playing his clavier:"Turn that cr*p down!"

Level 4 HACCP - Hazard analysis and critical control points. It's a food safety system invented initially by Pilsbury Foundation for NASA to prevent their astronauts getting food poisoning. Hmmmm! I do pick some exciting things to do.

A great burger and chips, definitely home made variety (although we ate out) just before going to see Ian Lavender and Rick Wakeman at the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds. A great evening had by all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ln_4FmNwh5M I hope this link takes you to a clip of Ian Lavender follow...

Re: SPRING 2012

Drought rectification measures still falling from the sky here in the flat lands, aye and still being readily absorbed by sandy soil as well. I am a firm believer that many years of water abstraction for other areas has more to do with the drought than the recent dry winters.

Just had a quick look on the RSPB website, it doesn't look like pied wagtails migrate.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Today I shall be mainly wrapping myself up in a quilt and feeling sorry for myself with what I hope is a cold. Last night I laid on the couch in a coat and with a quilt and dog on top of me for warmth. I feel a little better at the moment. Ugghhhhh.

Pied Wagtails are nesting behind next door's barge board, clearly visible from my kitchen window. That will make some enjoyable watching. Superb little birds wagtails.

Not TV but I heard part of a programme on the current state of play of Lancashire Cotton Mills last night on R4. Either I was tired or it was riveting as I fell asleep before the end. I think I was tired.

Re: SPRING 2012

It was very windy in the flatlands yesterday, driving the rain rather. There is a slightly sloping road between two fields locally and the rain has been pulling the sand out of the soil and sending it down the slope along with any smaller flints that the rivulet can pick up. Driving down that road i...

Relaxing after a successful audit. I seem to have made a name for myself as a taskmaster; there is some personality retrieval to be done. However, job done for a year, we just need to improve on what we have done so far.

It has taken me 6 years to think about expanding my search for Dan Walton's Mill to Daniel Walton's Mill and Bingo! A mention in the London Gazette. Daniel Walton and Sons Ltd, Bradley Mills, Nelson. Now then (Stanley) everyone, does anyone know where it was? Do we have any pictures? The pictures of...

Number one daughter is unable to go to a Derren Brown performance at Blackpool Opera House on 3rd April 2012. Is there anyone out there who would like to buy the ticket? She paid £32.50 for the ticket and is happy to accept reasonable offers. If anyone out there likes illusionists / magicians - he i...
