Re: READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
I've just found the Damien Seeker books. They are a good read if you like historical whodunnit novels. These are set in Commonwealth times, Oliver Cromwell in charge. I definitely recommend the series of books based on the one I've finished and the next ones I'm going to buy! https://www.fantasticfi...

Re: Resources from an Unlikely Source
I'm still doing my family tree (extended) and found a basic mistake looking for my GGGG Grandad's baptism. Now corrected, wrong people removed (oops) and a restart on that line. All I did was ignore some information, I was driven to look for specific information when I had, right in front of me, a b...

I've just seen the stuff about Caroline Flack in Obits. She lived in our village as a youngster. Less is more with regard to comments.

Just been to the Saatchi Gallery, formerly known as the Chelsea Barracks. Things that I noted: 1. What a wonderful building 2. What a great exhibition - Tutankhamen - treasures of the golden pharaoh 3. My daughter still excited at her age!!! 4, The brief sojourn to Leeds when we got on the wrong tra...

I saw Nicholas Parsons in the Rocky Horror Show at the Theatre Royal in Norwich, as he came on stage for the first time a voice rang out: "And now, from Norwich.........It's the Sale of the Century! He was brilliant as the narrator. We hardly ever missed Just a Minute on the radio. I really wil...

I stumbled across this wonderful resource the other day, it doesn't make for an easy read but it does make for an interesting one. Thank goodness no-one can relieve themselves and drown in my well! Happy browsing if you have time. Link: http://reshare.ukdataservice.ac.uk/852155/3/Accident_inquests.csv

I've just read your piece on greaves Stanley, we are fortunate that there is more legislation governing the transport and use of what is now termed Category 1, 2 and 3 animal by-products. However, the horse gate incidents show that where there is money to be made on the cheap, unscrupulous "bus...

Re: READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
I do read a lot of "chewing gum", and I enjoy the escapism I get from those reads, however my enjoyment of the moment is "Who we are and how we got here" by David Reich. I've not finished it yet, and I don't read for long each day (in bed), however it is really enjoyable. Put tog...

Possibly a cheat for this thread, but I thought I would post it anyway. If you have lightly or heavily tea stained cups or mugs, bicarb of soda and a little water mixed to a paste inside the cup will bring them up sparkling. Oh I wish I'd known this before.

Mother came up with one that I am familiar with, but had forgotten about. Worret (spelling may vary) fiddling about with some physical thing, worrying it. Not sure if it has been on this forum before, I don't recall it. She was worreting something the other day.
