Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Itwas a busy creative day yesterday. After finishing the washing and ironing, I made one of the hats for the costumes for Todmorden theatres next production, then I set to on the yellow top, which now fits me beautifully. There is some way to go before it is finished but I am feeling happier. In the...

I like to damp dust with paper towel ( years of living with an Asthmatic kiddie...don’t shift the dust about) :biggrin2:
No shifting the dust clings to the static feathery bit. We have asthmatics too, including me and it works a treat.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I use a feather duster on an expandable pole, dead easy. I have one of those, the 'duster' bit is 'charged' with static so the dust sticks to it quite well. I did 'damp dust' when we first moved in this new house as it had stood empty for quite some time. Mine is too Kev, so easy to use. I damp dus...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I have been up and down a step-stool, cleaning the tops of door frames today ( my inner domestic goddess is now feeling rather smug). It all started when I noticed dust on top of the lounge French door frames as I came down the stairs. I use a feather duster on an expandable pole, dead easy. Sewing...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Ah, time consuming, uncomfortable and a little tiring for you. I slept better last night, just over my usual 8 hours. Today is art , and the usual Friday lunch out. I shall be looking for something light on the menu. Two more meals to go after today. I have a new sewing venture. I have been asked by...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Its been an exhausting day, the effect of lack of sleep. I am normally an 8 hours per night person, who rarely gets up. Occasionally I go through poor sleep patterns but thats usually the summer when it is light early.

Glad you are ok Stanley. How many more sessions do you have?

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Dreadful nights sleep. Woke suddenly at 2.15, went to the loo and was still awake at 5.00 despite several sessions of reading my book. Now I feel like death warmed up as I have had to drag myself awake. Its art this morning, reading my poem at writing this afternoon, lunch with friends between the t...

Great poem, Sue, thanks for sharing it! :good: Thanks Tiz, the water cycle! The yellow top has been refitted this afternoon, taken in, taken up, recut and all marked up for me to sew. Bob has a dental appointment this morning, so we shall walk there together, into Rochdale then up towards the station. It should take about 45 minutes. Then back to Rochdale to the bank, the optician and finally the bus station where we need to pay a new annual charge of £10 so that we can use the t...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Another poem, originally written in 2009. This months challenge was to review something we had written before and review and improve. I altered a few bits, changed the punctuation and the rhythm. Perpetual Motion version 2 Flowing gently, oozing from the ground, slow movement, constant trickle but l...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

The Swan at Newby Bridge must have changed since I frequented it 50 years ago Sue. I have improved the shining hour by cooking and mashing veggies. I will tell you later Stanley, I was told to go a bit more formal than my usual lakes jeans and sweater, so its a dress...made by me of course. Just a ...

Re: Arthur Lake

I have been doing a little more research on this family for part of a chapter of my book. I think I have solved a mystery. Maria Widdup nee Lake had a brother William H Lake. They were born in Warwickshire. About 1876 Maria came to Barnoldswick, where as a single mother she gave birth to a child. Th...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

My poem for you Sue on your birthday, I know its pathetic but the best I could do with the equipment I have. Put it here, put it there, Space to put it anywhere. In neat rows not too high, Suits my style, don't ask me why. On those shelves and in that bin. More and more, just cram it in, Some thing...
