Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning

Yesterday turned out drier than expected, it was raining when we did our walk so we kept it short. If I had known it was going to be so dry I would have done the flags but it today looks promising. Pilates first, thén flags, then yoga.

Have a good day all

Re: DIALECT AND WORD MEANINGS

I recently read `the idea rankles with me' in a newspaper. I hadn't heard `rankles' for ages.... rankle (v.) c. 1300, ranclen, of a sore, wound, etc., "to fester," from Old French rancler, earlier raoncler, draoncler "to suppurate, run," from draoncle "abscess, festering so...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning After our shopping the sun was still with us, so we had our morning coffee in the conservatory and I got one load of washing dried outside. I decided to clean and disinfect the bird feeders and was able to dry them in the sun before putting new feed in them . I then went to get changed in or...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning What a beautiful day. In answer to your question Stanley we have had Heron problem but not recently. We now have a large net that spans three quartes of the pond up to the shallow end. The fish tend to prefer the deeper end. However we have caught cats and bigger birds trying to get into the...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning What an odd day yesterday without our daily trip . After art, in the afternoon, the rain ceased for a bit or at least became a light drizzle so Bob took the opportunity to get the petrol hedge cutter out and trim the back hedge and branches . I swept up. It took some time and we were caught ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

To be quite honest we tend not to think about it as a cancer we dwell more on organising the day and fitting in meals etc around appointments. We won't even need to think about that now. I suppose because Bob shows no sign of illness or bad side effects then he is just Bob in both of our minds

Morning It’s a damp day but less so this afternoon when it starts to warm up. We shall see later whether Bobs greenhouse repairs have been successful. Yesterday we were away from Christies by 2.00 pm, it seemed strange driving home so early. We called at Sainsburys for petrol and clothes browsing, B...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning I wonder, Stanley, if everything going together reflects the timing of when they were bought when they moved back here from the States or when they had their kitchen extension. I await to hear this week what can be repaired. Todays appointment is lunchtime so its a day for taking sandwiches,...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Nice looking car Kev is it petrol or diesel? It's the 2.0 diesel, the 150bhp tdci. Returns 60+ mpg if you're not too heavy on the right foot. I think the Dyson would be in the bin, I looked at replacing the motor on my old DC08 but bought a Shark in the end. It wasn't much more than a replacement m...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

After lunch I will be heading out onto Skipton Old Road, wearing a lot of warm clothing topped by a fluorescent vest, to pick up bags full of litter from the verges. It is Lothersdale's litter picking day but I like to join in as part of the road is within that parish. Good for you Wendy, Whitworth...

Morning Rain all day today but warmer. It was a bitterly cold wind yesterday, though less so down in S Manchester. Today should reach 10 degrees. It will be a busy morning, shopping at Bacup then over to the other side of Rochdale to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Ours died spectacularly yesterday and in...

Morning Today is our youngest grand daughter’s 10 th birthday.
