Re: Bagels

. This Brick lane Beigel seems to be the best source now. I saw a video of that place, and remember there was some sort of religious ritual associated with the bakery. I think they were passed through a hole in a wall as I remember it. I've had bagels from there when I worked in that there London, ...

Its the iPad stanley which is a pressure pad in the tablet. When we asked the experts they said get a new ipad. Not the answer I wanted .
You can buy relatively cheap replacement iPad screens on ebay and there are fairly extensive videos, on youtube, to show you how to replace it.

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

All older properties should be tested and owners and landlords made to replace the lead pipes, it's a no-brainer! The supply to my house was a lead 'branch' from next door, up until 2014, when I had it replaced. It's an expensive job, from the main in the back street to my property line was £600 a ...

Bypassed solicitors and have spoken directly to the seller and my buyer. We know what we're doing and when, I'm sure the legal teams will catch up especially if they want paying :laugh5:

The estimated energy cost, at the new house, is £25 a month less than the current house, I'm only downsizing by one bedroom. We'll see how that goes. :-)

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

My last move was in 2011 when I moved in here. What was interesting was my eldest son has just had a survey, for a remortgage, on the house I used to own. The layout is similar to this one with the exception of another bedroom on the first floor, his survey made no mention of the attic bedroom requi...

I see that David's fairies have erected their tent in the square ready for the switch on of the emitters on 16th November. Stock up with foil!
Seems a bit early for the switch on, is it not for Remembrance Sunday?

Re: THE FLATLEY DRYER

The 'Nit Nurse' was a regular visitor to schools and they were very common. In later years it was found that the reservoir of infection that kept nits going was adult's heads, if they had been treated at the same time as the kids and the dose repeated a fortnight later to get the hatching eggs nits...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Surveyors and conveyancing solicitors, I'm sure they make up most of it just to make a bit more money. The third bedroom, in my current house, is in the attic. Looking at the construction of the room it's fairly obvious it was built that way when the house was built, lathe and plaster for the eaves ...

I'm sure I remember electricity transmission 'losses' were between 5 and 10% when I worked for the grid. The increase in transmission voltages should have reduced that further by now but I don't have access to the figures anymore.

Went over to Harrogate to visit youngest offspring this morning. We went for a walk at Nidd Gorge, the autumn colours are quite something.
