Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Are you saying that your daughter Susan is a paid carer for you, Stanley ?
(I thought your grand-daughter did the pedicures) I am confused.

Re: THE FLATLEY DRYER

I simply ask myself 'Which does most damage in the world?' I rest my case..... I'm with Ken, who causes most trouble, garlic eaters or the crowd outside Yates' Wine bar at closing time? What makes you think the crowd outside the wine bar aren’t garlic eaters as well? I suspect they may well be ( my...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

That video got me moving. I spent a good part of the morning ironing fabric and cutting out masks. All in neat stacks, ready for chain piecing tomorrow ( just run them through one after another and cut the threads in between to seperate them afterwards). I went a bit over board and think I have seve...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

We did our daily walk. (After 3 loads of washing, cleaning the bathroom/toilet, and hubby washed the car, and I prepared dinner). I think that is enough for one day...oh...I did 3 hours of Ancestry too...and I trimmed a few plants... :laugh5: Oh ...and I listened to Women’s Hour on BBC Channel 4. ( ...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

I had the same experience today! We had an ultra bright torch, bought cheaply, and it has two beams, which are incredibly useful while camping in a dark spot. Hubby tried to use it today to check ( of all things) the silicone seal in our shower. I took the torch off him, as it was not it’s usual bri...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

I shall be making triple layered masks at some point this week. I truly believe we have been lucky thus far, but due to STUPID PEOPLE, believing life is ALL ABOUT THEM, life will change for us. Very disappointing to finally feel the brunt of human nature.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Some nursing homes will only take people who are continent. They refuse incontinent clients.
I realise this is a very difficult topic to talk about. I accept we have very different health care systems.
In our world, if you pay peanuts, you get peanuts.
We have no cradle to grave health care here.

I know. It is a can of worms! On the flip side, families don’t want to contribute more than granny’s own pension for her care...sad but true. Meanwhile, Granny has often been saving for a rainy day all her life and she doesn’t realise it is raining! The truly poor and disabled get better care in fac...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Partly true re Australian Private Care homes re the minimum wages, Stanley. This means that a lot of the workers take on extra shifts across several sites (Typhoid Mary’s). They are also reluctant to take sick days as they need the money to make ends meet. With this current wave of Covid they have b...

My son likes “stinky” food, like the rest of you ( that Garlic crap).
But he does enjoy a Pizza with pulled Lamb, Rosemary, Fetta Cheese and Roast Pumpkin as a topping.

I can oven roast veg/chicken and make a great Pizza topping as cheap as chips. Just add Tomato Paste ( I make my own and freeze it) Add Cheese, sliced onion, sliced Capsicum, Fresh Mushrooms, maybe Bacon etc BBQ sauce and/or Tinned Pineapple, Spinach, Herbs and shove it in the oven for 20 mins. Base...
