Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

No it is quite frustrating, Panbiker. They say they need a signature, but they don’t at all. Last delivery they just asked for my initials, as the item was ordered by my husband, and he was home and only needed to come downstairs to receive his parcel. I went to sign on their electronic thingamyjig ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I am enjoying a little glass of Red Wine after sewing /cutting/ironing all day... ( I am actually tired!) but it has been a great day. We were supposed to have a delivery yesterday morning, waited in all day, went for a walk about 4pm to find the note left by delivery men on our return. Hubby phoned...

The front drops down when beached, and vehicles/persons are released straight onto the beach. In the meantime they are protected from attack.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

A parcel of masks will be on its way to Cazza tomorrow. I can’t have her travelling on public transport “ all exposed”! I discovered some narrow elastic, put back in the wrong pouch, in my craft cupboard! ( either that, or the elastic fairies have visited overnight). Deep joy. So I have had enough t...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

I carefully discarded all excess sewing stuff when I moved here. Not that I regret the severe culling, but who would have thought there would be such a need for 3mm elastic.
Please don’t bring buttons back in use. I gave a shoebox full to the charity shop.

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

That's when I get up Maz. Perhaps you should do the same and have a kip later in the day? My husband is allergic to me having any rest during the day! If he finds me reading, we must go for a walk! He doesn’t like me going to bed early either. I am stuck with the hours I am given. But 3am is my wit...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Look Plaquey, once I give them away, I don’t care what their use might be beyond their intended use. I feel bad enough that I can’t seem to supply narrow elastic. Maybe I should investigate double sided sticky tape. ( actually...I have some double sided carpet tape in the cupboard. I wonder if Febby...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Oh the joys of living in the country. After trying 2 supermarkets and 2 cheap shops looking for narrow elastic, I made my way to the only sewing shop in town. The shop is for sale ( has been for about 3 years now), and is run by a sweet face octogenarian lady, who smells faintly of moth balls and co...

Re: THE FLATLEY DRYER

I simply ask myself 'Which does most damage in the world?' I rest my case..... I'm with Ken, who causes most trouble, garlic eaters or the crowd outside Yates' Wine bar at closing time? What makes you think the crowd outside the wine bar aren’t garlic eaters as well? I suspect they may well be ( my...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

That video got me moving. I spent a good part of the morning ironing fabric and cutting out masks. All in neat stacks, ready for chain piecing tomorrow ( just run them through one after another and cut the threads in between to seperate them afterwards). I went a bit over board and think I have seve...

We did our daily walk. (After 3 loads of washing, cleaning the bathroom/toilet, and hubby washed the car, and I prepared dinner). I think that is enough for one day...oh...I did 3 hours of Ancestry too...and I trimmed a few plants... :laugh5: Oh ...and I listened to Women’s Hour on BBC Channel 4. ( ...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

I had the same experience today! We had an ultra bright torch, bought cheaply, and it has two beams, which are incredibly useful while camping in a dark spot. Hubby tried to use it today to check ( of all things) the silicone seal in our shower. I took the torch off him, as it was not it’s usual bri...
