Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Made a Rhubarb Shortcake with my Rhubarb harvest this morning...(likely most of it will go in the freezer for future visitors). I’ve had such a good lot of Rhubarb this season. At least the cold Winter was worth it for the Rhubarb. Still mulling over what to cook for our evening meal tonight. I have...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

When your doctor say “ you drink too much” you must enquire “ compared to whom?”. ( I read this somewhere...honest...it doesn’t apply to me)

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Did you check your sugar levels?
Quiche and cold salads ( with loads of raw mushrooms for me).

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

They would have been respected more if they had made this choice before the royal wedding, expensive private birth, and the renovations to Frogmore! ( making the choice prior to great wealth being bestowed would have been very well accepted I think). Don’t you just want to take them both by the scru...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

It does rather point to “ don’t bite the hand that feeds you”. I don’t think Harry quite grasps that he will be seen in Marks and Sparks buying his own underwear, without security guard coverage. He will be completely lost of course, never having bought his own undies and socks before...and taking h...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

I was in that situation on Christmas Eve. Finally ( after electronically tracking the package all day), I thought I heard a delivery truck. So I went to the door and waited and waited. Finally I took a few steps outside and there was no one in sight, so I thought “silly me - I could have sworn I hea...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

My second harvest of Rhubarb is ready. I stewed the first lot with a tiny bit of sugar, and it was delicious.
Might make a Rhubarb Slice with this lot.
( Rhubarb is a funny plant. It only grows where it is happy. Ours loves being in the front garden!)

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I am almost organised with Ancestry now. One more pile of scribble to sort thru and designate to particular folders.
( I must get some more folders in the sales that are on just before the kiddies return to school. Hopefully, printer ink will be on sale too. :biggrin2: )
I can dust my desk now!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

More Ancestry today, though I admit that most of it was boring and much needed filing, to clear my desk. The printer jammed several times too. Frustrating. But I have a clearer track next time I devote time to it. “A clear edge” as Stanley would say. Have got rid of many scribbled notes. My handwrit...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

Oh...I love rain as well! ( haven’t heard a drop for 2 months plus). I love wind at night too, roaring around the corners of the house. All comforting sounds. I also love opening the full length window blinds in my kitchen each morning to the rising sun. Magnificent. I stand in those rays and feel r...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

To be honest, I could not live in a house not quiet enough to hear a clock ticking...there is something soothing about ceasing being busy and becoming aware of a clock ticking... On a different note we have a TV in our bedroom ( bad idea...should have never agreed to it). In the dead of night, about...

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

There are so many exhausted folk, pushed to their limits of endurance in Australia at the moment. Time and time again, we see folk reduced to blubbering masses from the simple touch/hug of another human being.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Had to de-head a lot of dead flowers today after the heat.
Shopping as per usual, mopped a few floors, then Ancestry. We had our walk later, then I started evening meal.
An easy and relaxed day with no timetable.

Quiche and Salad. No afters.
It was yummy! ( didn’t eat my pastry...just nibbled the crusty edge and felt guilty :laugh5: )
