Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I dragged Grumble Bum off to the local cinema this afternoon - a lovely intimate little ArtDeco style building. Then I dragged him along the beach for a walk. Life...be in it! ( he didn't enjoy the film as much as I did, but I told him I would let him choose next time) We saw "The 100ft Journey" ( H...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Hope the house has dried out when you get home, Sue. Hubby and I drove part way back to suburbia and went to a major shopping centre today, as we were after a list of things we can't source locally...one of them being some net curtains for our bedroom. We have lived "seaside" for less than two month...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

French style Chicken/Leek/Mushroom/Tarragon Casserole...slow cooked as we enjoy a walk on the beach. Positively T-shirt weather today. 24 degrees. Spring is in the air and there are Dragonflies and Butterflies everywhere. You know that one day in the year that can never be repeated, when you get the...

Yes..indeed!
Little Ollie's Mum deserves some kind of medal. Fancy being organised and energetic enough to take the kids to the beach just 24 hours after giving birth!

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Oooooo...possibly sound advice, Tiz. ( we watched the "new" Dr Who this week and wouldn't give you tuppence). So do you mean I swing a rubbish bag, or pop the old handbag over the arm ( with house brick inside) when taking the wheelie out in case of encounter? Handbag seems a bit formal for rubbish ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I bet you hurt and have chaffed "bits", Panbiker. Jam! Oh how clever you lot are! Made Quince jam for my father-in-law one year ( it was his tree and he didn't know how to go about it)...but now I don't know anyone who would eat it. We stuffed ourselves with hedgerow berries of all types last year w...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I was putting the bin out on the kerb for collection this morning and hadn't heard the gent on a bicycle, who pulled up along side of me and said "Any chance of a cup of tea?" I nearly jumped through my skin...especially when I turned to view him...middle aged, overweight, wearing a bicycle helmet t...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

We spoke to the neighbour too, Cathy. He had suspected his own measurements had come up slightly short. It had to be sorted, as the wall of his garage will be built on the boundary. Better to know ahead of time than wake one morning to find diggers munching up our side fence... Neighbour across the ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

No...the fence was erected by the people who previously owned our house...we bought the house believing all was correct. The neighbour bought the block with the fence in situ too. It is only now he intends to build that his surveyors informed us of the four inch discrepancy. We've done the right thi...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

On Friday the surveyors came to check the soon-to-be-built-on plot next door...to discover the rear part of our side fence ( dividing us and them) was 4 inches too far "their " way, whilst it was pretty well correct at the front. So Febby and I spent at least 6 hours shifting the ruddy thing today. ...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Ha...Mum is probably closer to the mark! The world is changing and our children seem happier living alone with their pets, than getting hitched...and I can see the positives in that. However, I am always impressed to meet folk who have been married for many years and have withstood the trying times....
