Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
The medical centre visit was NOT free. £35. That included an ECG and doctor consult. He was seen within 5 mins. Blood tests were free. All done with Covid rules in place ( I had to wait in the corridor where chairs were spaced at 2 metres) Happy to pay, for almost instant peace of mind. I know we ha...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
Head down, bum up today wiping metre after metre of skirting boards and low windows ( our windows reach the floor). Has to be done when the back is in good order. Plus dusting furniture legs etc, that is the bottom floor done. May do the upstairs tomorrow. Boring but necessary work. Not the best way...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...
We dug up all our bulbs today, stored then in paper bags ready for a winter in the garage. Big job. They need to be replanted by Spring, as many had worked themselves too close to the surface. They don’t do so well when they work their way to the surface. It was a shovel job, then we mulched the soi...

(And I need to tell you, it was very welcome after a strenuous day of gardening!) I don’t need to count carbs when I come in whipped from hard gardening.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Judging by our Summer Holiday crowds, I can’t imagine any of our eateries are suffering. Schools went back today, so the town is getting back to normal population and the old dears are once again trundling around on their mobility scooters. Glad to see the back of the crowds. I expect they are some ...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
That looks really nice! :good: I often go through periods where I simply hate cooking and I am sure others do too. I literally have to drag myself into the kitchen and get on with it. I’m always looking for inspiration. The topic is “What did we have for tea?”, is it not??! An entire topic devoted t...

Different strokes for different folks.
No mortgage payments for us for 30+ years. In our case, that has made it easier to afford holidays etc.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Come on guys...you are in lockdown! It is Winter! You all need to eat! Is no one getting off their bums to cook delicious meals?
If I were in lockdown, I would declare one night a week for “candle-light dinner”. Turn that damn TV off, cook something really decent and put the music on low.

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY
I have always lived to a strict budget. Have never owed anything to anyone, kept up with all bills and have often gone without to do so, yet have still put a nourishing meal on the table each night ( I am a bit of a tyrant of depriving myself of unnecessary heating and cooling) I cannot understand p...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I cut Chicken Breast into thin strips and crumbed, then fried. Made a Low Sugar Sweet and Sour Sauce. Cooked Rice, fresh veg, and put it in the oven under foil ( Red Onion, Red Capsicum, Carrot, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Sweet Corn). Added some Chilli and Chinese Five Spice) Served it up and drizzled i...

I saw a similar thing to an old wringer here, though with a more narrow roller, and somehow needing pressure.

Another of life’s great myths. You do not need to save Rubber Bands, Buttons, Paper Clips or Plastic/Paper Bags! Free your drawers and free your life. You should already be refusing all paper bags and all plastic bags anyway. We have been doing it for 30 years. Just carry a fabric bag when you go sh...
