Like Maz I cannot stand clutter, it does not bother hubby but it winds me up. I would not look at houses until I had a firm offer on ours, we lost a lovely house because we had not sold ours.

Hubby pays £5 pensioners' rate at his barbers. He too. like Cathy, likes a lie in - opposite of Stanley - as hubby too used to get up at unearthly hours so now he is making up for it.

Regarding 'cast not a clout' - I believe in dressing for the weather, no point sweltering in winter clothes because you cannot 'cast' them. If it comes cold again I will dress accordingly.

Re. Black Bomber cheese, we got some cheese with charcoal at the farm shop which was black but tasted lovely.
We had lamb steak, jerseys (that were proper jerseys, and crushed cauliflower last night.

On the back road from Lancaster to Middleton someone has put a large gorilla in a tree - very effective and amusing.

We had hake cooked in butter with Morecambe Bay shrimps, garden peas and what were supposed to be Jersey potatoes - I don't think they had seen Jersey.

As we had our kitchen painted yesterday and there was a smell of paint we went to the Ram Inn at Cliviger for tea. We both had the Scampi which was very nice with a bottle of Merlot to wash it down.

I used to have that problem a long time ago and it became a habit to wake up in the early hours then to think I wouldn't get back to sleep so I may as well get up. Meat & potato pie.

Trips - I put the pork chops in the oven basting them and turning them and they absorbed all the marinade and we tender & tasty.
We had roast pork, apple sauce, mediterranean veg. & roast potatoes on Sunday - last night was cold pork with cauli. taking the place of the mixed veg.

We had sweet & sour pork steaks - marinated in sweet chilli sauce & balsamic vinegar - dauphinoise potatoes & garden peas.

We had chicken stir fry.
