Re: Minor glitches
Doc, not a glitch but a question. Is there a way of linking to a specific OG post rather than simply to the page upon which the post is shown? I ask because it would be very useful and I notice that the Search function can find specific posts containing keywords, not just threads. And while you're a...

Re: Old fashioned clean jokes
Not many jokes so far - I wonder if folk are not seeing this section of the site. It took me a little while to find where it was on the Board Index, in small italic print under the Regular Members Area. But perhaps it's just that I use the site differently to others. (You know what scientists are li...

Ian, try this:
Highlight the text you want make into a link
Click on the URL button
When the brackets containing `url' appear around your text put an = sign between the initial `url' and the ] symbol
Then paste in your desired web link URL immediately after the =.

Re: CLIMATE CHANGE AND GLOBAL WARMING
Pluggy's correct. The `no temperature increase over the last decade' claim is the argument used by what has become known as the `false sceptics' brigade, i.e. the group that denies everything regardless of evidence (as opposed to the `real sceptics' who quite rightly want good evidence but are willi...

I'll second that Ian - I wonder how many people even know it exists? Aaah, you're weakening now Angus, you'll soon be proclaiming how good the site is! More seriously, the old site was quite idiosyncratic and people who used many other forums would have found it very odd and difficult to use. Now it's mainstream, so if you look at other forums you should find that th...

American scientists studying meat in supermarkets have found that it is better to use LED lights in the refrigerated cabinets instead of the present fluorescent lights. LEDs are colder and therefore keep the meat cooler, they use less electrical energy, and they don't discolour the meat a much as fl...

Doc, I've posted my first image in the Practice forum but it shows not only the image but the camera's EXIF data too. Did I miss something? I'll stick my neck out and say I'd prefer to see the two `Thanks' lines disappear from under the Avatar and thus shorten each post by that amount. Many posts on here are short yet there is lots of unnecessary space under them. Yes, we need some space after each post but not so much. What you think?

I've just bookmarked this OG page because for me it's most like the old forum's home page listing and the way that I've always found active OG threads - but then I'm a bit of a dinosaur and like the old ways!
