Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Once we cracked the system we speeded up considerably . Of course we did it using the letters on the reverse side then flipped it over when finished

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

As I said earlier there is a legal requirement to name your contacts in the previous two weeks as in ANY EPIDEMIC and NOTIFIABLE DISEASE . This is normal track and trace that has been around for decades. I learn something on here every day, thank you Sue. STDs was where this was mainly developed. G...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

So...if you pay cash...and do not have a mobile phone ( or choose to leave it home) you are invisible? Hmmm. I find that deeply distressing. The whole point of the track and trace system is to quickly connect with anyone who may have shared air space with a positive person. It should not take bank ...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

There is talk here too about having a vaccination requirement to travel but no plans Maz. As for the vaccine up until 3 weeks after the vaccine you will have insufficient immunity not to catch it and be ill . After that you may carry the virus but not be ill, however each time the body is exposed to...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Shutting borders here is a problem when so much of your food and essential reources come from Europe. For everyone else they have been shut fir some while. I think lorry drivers have to have a negative covid test now to cross the channel.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

I take that back, France are still only talking about a third lockdown with numbers rising rapidly with the new variant. You mention covid is worry some Maz, it is here too. This area with its damp atmosphere and the large number of elderly who were around when it was heavily industrial and large nu...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Wonderful. That will help greatly and I don’t think was employed early on. How do they track folk without phones? These fines and number restrictions have been in place for many months Maz, much longer than I can even remember. Where I live and I think it is the same Barlick, tight restrictions hav...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

The system you describe Maz has been going on here for months . Certainly when I was having my hair done way back in July I was signing in and using QR codes displayed in buildings from as far back as September I think. People who are positive are supposed to give a list of anyone they came in conta...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning It’s foggy morning and we have had a sprinkling of snow that was not forecast here. The forecast was/is for a foggy start ,clearing to sunny for the afternoon. We were planning a walk and being adventurous intending trying another bridle path on the moors and completing a circuit but we will...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

( no blame on you of course, Wendy, but I think we had a full view on the risks long before you lot did) And...I think we still have! I presume thats a generalisation Maz, since I have always understood the ins and outs of this pandemic, as I do with the vaccine...to the best of my ability that is....

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I agree, the worse thing about lockdown is not meeting people or in my case havi g a right good gossip. The Tesco delivery man had a socially distanced natter today. He was saying he hadn’t seen us for ages and were we ok. We think the last time we saw him was a year ago, just about now, when we had...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning Its a nice bright morning with a beautiful sunrise forming. Hopefully it will be a nice day for a walk this afternoon. Yesterday we had snow for a couple of hours but it was gone by just after lunch. In fact it was dry and sunny later. After a bit of cleaning and ironing I spent my day doing...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning A foggy cold day with snow forecast mid morning. The snow overnight never happened. After lunch yesterday we managed a walk. The skies were blue but it was bitterly cold. According to my app we only did just over 3 miles, yet I am sure I have logged that same walk nearer 4 before. The paths ...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning Intermittent rain, snow and sun yesterday but mainly rain. The jigsaw progressed well and I spent nearly 3 hours yesterday playing with my new paints. They are a lot harder to use than I thought and it will take some time to develop any skill in it. Today I will have an opportunity to discus...

I have never understood why phage therapy has not been developed more. I was teaching about this 25 years ago, and knew someone researching it when I was still a student.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Morning More rain and possibly snow due today. I think a lot of areas are dreading it. I haven’t seen any photos of Rochdale town centre but it is very likely the river will overflow. Yesterday was a day of jigsaw ( now half done) and sewing. My whale applique is finished but I find I now have no ba...

Morning Still torrential rain, there is a flood warning for Rochdale town centre, lets hope the river behaves itself and does not flood the town like it did about 4 years ago. Another day of indoor activities. The jigsaw is progressing well 😆 and when I wasn't doing that yesterday I was completing m...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

There are too many hills round here obscuring reception to use an app that tracks your walk as you do it. We tried it and found we were always a couple of miles out due to loss of reception. Do you not get a signal from GPS round your way Sue? I have never experienced loss of signal on any of the t...
