Only one image needed. This morning I finished the initial turning of the first crankshaft and cleaned the lathe up ready for setting up the next shaft tomorrow. All the chips are out in the bin and I have swept the floor.

It's anybody's guess how long it was since this vise was first fastened to the tree next to Forty Steps. Long enough for it to be part of the tree. It disappeared when more houses were being built there about 30 years ago.

I shall be in the shed for an hour on my shafts and I need a swift trip to the Co-op for milk after second sleep. As for the rest of the day, I shall take it as it comes!

Yes, I know he is. I'm not complaining, just reporting in the hope I may give you a clue as to what is going on. I'm back on to try to post on Shed Matters. I shall get there in the end!
