Was in Douglas for my b'day last year.
Had several rides on the Horse Tram along the prom.

The "Trammers" are either Clydesdales or Shires and pull the trams at a spanking trot.

Have a couple of photos somewhere ... "just a minute", I'll have a look ...

worm for checking / withdrawing all the remains of a previous firing of a smooth bore weapon (from cannon to pistol) before re-loading.

If you didn't, and the swabbing out didn't drown the waste 'bits', then the next load might fire prematurely.

Having had a few days in the TLC of Wales (visiting my father, now 99 1/4 yrs old) and attending the Hunslet 125 gala (Blanche & Linda are 125 yrs old so they had a party, inviting lots of other Hunslet locomotives, even a couple of diesels came). Great fun ! Now I'm back, with a pile of laundry...

That's a carriage key - used to open / lock "budget locks" on railway carriages.

Budget locks can be used on any number of types of locker doors, eg in boats or tool boxes in workshops ...

My paternal grandfather, just after WW1, was employed as a vertical borer (ie cylinders) at Hunslet Engine Company in Leeds.
Subsequently, my father was an apprentice at Hunslets and after he moved to near Bristol, he worked in the toolroom ...

Finishing off building the new secondary greenhouse. The instructions leave something to be desired.

I've used ours a few times ... sometimes the nuts and bolts have needed serious persuading ! usually because they are rusted into the timber.
