Re: School Dinners - Good and Bad Memories ?

I only attended Rainhall Rd School for 1 year, then we came to Australia. I don't remember the school dinners there, even tho I must have had them, but I do remember Mother taking us for meat pies from the local shop on Fridays (I can still taste them, they were yummy). I do remember the milk we wer...

Re: DIALECT AND WORD MEANINGS

The cappuccino is an everyday drink served in cafe's around the world, but the frothy coffee with a dash of powdered choc has exotic, mediaeval and monastic origins. It gets its name from the Capucin monks, whose habits are coffee-coloured. The Capucins are an order of Saint Francis of Assisi, set u...

Re: Minor glitches

Another question for you Doc, hope it hasn't been asked before and I've missed it.
How do you Bookmark pictures on this new site? I have many saved on the old site (which I hope are still there) but can't figure out how to do it on this one. Can the old ones be transferred over? Many thanks Cathy

Oh dear, another one of the best gone. They say he was still working right up to a couple of days ago. He had been very popular for many years working in musical stage shows. He was a young heart-throb of mine too. RIP Davy Jones

He's caught the last train....

Re: Old fashioned clean jokes

This is meant to be a true story (??) but I thought it was so funny it doubles as a joke... A nurse was on duty in the A & E when a young woman with purple hair styled into a punk-rocker mohawk, sporting a variety of tattoos and wearing strange clothing, entered. It was quicky determined that th...

Has anyone noticed the new Bakers Meaty Meals ads for dogs? It has high frequency noises similar to a dog whistle on it that only dogs can hear - apparently the ad talks to the dogs. Have you noticed a reaction to it from your dog?

I like the way her husband (ex?) went on stage at the Grammy's just 4hrs after she was found dead... NOT!

I reckon she couldn't face going into an arena like that where she used to belong and knowing just how successful she used to be and how she would be judged today. ??

They haven't as yet said how she died, so I won't jump to conclusions, but what a shame for such a great talent to die so young.
There was a rumour that she might have been performing at the Grammys (this Sunday i think).

RIP Whitney Houston
