Re: ENERGY MATTERS

I suspect stanley's annuity might push him over the limit for pension credit , which would trigger normally some extra govt cash, also some suppliers if you go to their website and put your family make up and income in will add a £140 warm home allowance to your bill ( some seem more 'generous' than...

We're both off to Burnley today in search of covid jabs (walk in centre). Flu jabs are booked for Saturday in Barlick. My pal walked into the Walk in Centre in Charter Walk Burnley. "Can I have a covid booster?" ... 'Have you booked ? ... "NO"... 'You must book first..."But...

I don't understand why some ports would be made free and not all ports. Surely if free ports are supposed to be a benefit then you'd make them all free rather than starting competition between them. It is more complex than that. The idea is that incoming goods can be processed then re-exported . Go...

It does look like at present , the cost to the govt of consumer support might be falling, possibly to not a lot. In part this is the present cost of Gas Futures - so the price the market is asking for for three months hence, is falling. This is due to europe having more or less topped up its storage...

UK could face daily energy blackouts in winter. This story cropped up some months ago and we were categorically assured it would never happen. But now some on the Anti-growth Coalition have stepped in in the shape of the National Grid. Not to worry we could always burn some coal (imported) and in 2...

I have something bladed like that somewhere (or did , might have lost it due to storage issues). Think it was a grapefruit scoop of some kind , but placed on a wooden stool ? Tom's looks like it had been something for melting metals for casting at some time in its life.

IF I understood Truss's latest interview with Peston , the Top Rate of Income Tax elimination had become a distraction, and anyway was only a minor bit of the tax amending proposals. I dont agree with Keir Starmer, I think he fights the wrong battles and I dislike his views on Corbyn, but he seems the best in the Parliamentary Labour Party. I have often wondered why they attribute names to them, why not just an incrementing number. H235 or similar followed by H236 etc would be fine.
Of course if it were truly a rare event it would be Iain with two eyes
