Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
Thanks for looking China. I'll keep checking the UK sites, the postage and other charges add a fair bit to the purchase price

Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
You're welcome. With a high priced item it is better to purchase from a reputable supplier. There are a lot of fakes in China that are good enough to deceive most people. But if anybody wants anything we usually have friends returning to the UK who will post things when they get back.
Just out of interest, I once looked at something to do with Stanley's metal work when he mentioned the price of an item, but I have already experienced tools that weren't fit for purpose so I wouldn't trust them to be reliable.

I'm sure one will turn up at the right price. I'm following a couple of used ones on EBay at the moment, starting price of £120 and UK postage...

You're right about workshop tools and machinery China. There is a lot of rubbish out there but some surprising bargains if you know where to look.

Colin has ordered a couple of items recently from sellers supposedly in the UK but the items arrive from China.
Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
I've ordered bits and pieces in the past from Chinese sellers and they've had warehouses in the UK. EBay is a strange place

Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
If you look closely on the despatch bits of Ebay it tells you where the goods are shipped from, a legal requirement I believe. I am expecting my flexible water bottle to arrive around now made in China but coming from Nuneaton I think it was, free post 3 -5 days so it has to be in the UK.

Much of what we buy on the High Street or in supermarkets comes from China anyway!
Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
My Olympus camera and the majority of the lenses are all made in China which is what prompted my original question
