What a great image David, I've never seen one quite like that before, lovely.

Facebook reaction to this one was that it's quite Gothic...

Thick fog this morning.

It was surprisingly murky.... In the days before the Clean Air Acts this would have been an old fashioned pea-souper.

Same from me David with knobs on. Give us a bit of your time this year, we're missing you....
Did you like the articles on community spirit? Do we still have a Tory party in Barlick?

Barlick; under a cloud, but not underwater this morning!

Thanks Stanley.

Am working myself back in gently...

Community spirit is what saved Ghyll Meadows from flooding a week ago. Each time I go past, I can't believe what we achieved last Saturday.

All helped by social media (facebook - where I sadly spend a lot of time these days...), but the foundations of what we did on Boxing Day are the teams of litter pickers, event enthusiasts and bloomers etc. (And we used quite a lot of the tools and equipment that we hold in common, too.)

Keep up the good work!

I'll do my best to visit OGFB daily.

Nice to hear that David. You have been missed and whilst OG isn't perhaps as powerful a tool as the social media sites, it's quite surprising how many people watch what's happening and don't contribute until something grabs them. I was asked one day whether I was LibDem because I seemed to be acting as a cheerleader for you (It was a Tory!) I said no, we support people who actually do things for us and the town.....So people do notice....

A little brightness as the sun rose this morning; a lot of grey about though!

Thanks for your comments Tiz and Stanley.

After the first couple of months of last year, the weight of work just got heavier and heavier (climaxing on Boxing Day and after with all consuming work on floods). Sadly, most of the time I wasn't even taking a delight in the delicate tones of the sun or the play of light on our town, never mind capturing images on camera.

Anyhow, I guess you can see I've got some resolve to mend my ways!

Thanks Stanley.

Back to work and earlier start for the household today (especially for Tom, who's become almost entirely nocturnal over the holidays), though Lucy doesn't return to high school until tomorrow.

Alison has had 10 days off. With me taken up with flood related work full time since Boxing Day, she's had full rein to indulge her passion for organising and reorganising the house; it's going to take me ages before I can just lay my hands on things again...

No prospect of seeing sun as it rises this morning with all the clag we have; brightest things outside the window are the streetlamps.

Not a lot of change in sight, this low is slow moving and deep.... Gloomy weather.
Have arranged a man to come in and clear the branches from the wind damage out of the front garden. Can you bear in mind that I'd like a rerun of the Barlick in Bloom deal when I get sorted out?
