WW1 Memorabilia Pottery

Post by plaques »

I came across these tea mugs in a sales room as part of some WW1 memorabilia. A quick search shows many similar items on e-bay. I wonder how common they are?

I like this kind of stuff. I've had a quick look and see that these seem to be original, but there is (are?) a great number of modern reproduction items. I've bought a couple of commemorative mugs for the Silver Jubilee and Coronation of George V in 1935, and 1937. These are fine bone china, and made by Shelley. I guess they were given to schoolchildren at the time.
