We had a first this morning-- a male blackcap in our garden. I have never seen one before. It looked very well, and at home, hope it stays and brings a mate. I have just read that they are a summer visitor from Germany and north east Europe, wonder if he got blown over last week.

Perhaps I should edit the title to Black Cap Bird, but haven't quite figured out how to yet.

I have taken the liberty Gloria with my Moderator Privileges. You can change the title by editing the first post if it's your topic. It does not change any existing following posts though. As there was only Moh's reply I edited that as well to keep continuity.

It does to me Moh! I would never dare make comments about your age.
The black birds with the small white collar in Valley Gardens have been there all winter. I forget what we decided they were.

Ring ouzels? They are meant to be just summer visitors, arriving in March.
