Tizers was Brian the Snail (on his own machine maybe) and I don't thing Angus(Gus) had one yet, however I do know he used the Lion Head on the old site which is in the Avatar pile. Pluggys similarly will be on his machine I think. Not sure about Kingy. Thanks for getting me back tappin Doc.

I see you remembered mine, not surprising, you chose it in the first place and I've never been quite sure whether you were pulling my leg.... Donor identification is a good thing, I take it that somewhere else you have ponted out to members that they can all be donors?

Hey Doc, no worries. The one I have now was the original from when I joined and I "lost" it a couple of years ago. Thanks for resurrecting it. Nolic

Easily done Doc, don't worry - in fact I quite liked the big Smilies! Whippy pointed me to this thread and I've only just got back to OG, but I'm a happy mollusc again!

I still find it a bit tricky following all the threads I want and would prefer somewhere to have a simple list of all threads (in order of latest activity) without them being divided into categories. Even the Regular Members Area has some threads (e.g. Jokes, puzzles**) separated off into categories and you have go to these categories to make sure you've checked everything. I don't know how the moderators manage! Or does such a page already exist and I've just missed it (not unknown for me to be a bit out of the loop!)
**And threads such as this and Minor Glitches, and Winged Heroes don't come up in the Reg Mems Area.
EDIT. Now the Jokes thread has turned up in the Members Area listing....

Tiz, if you use "view unread posts" on the forum page, it brings up every topic you haven't looked at, regardless of category.

Thanks Wendy, it took me a while to find it on the Forum page due to the small print and I finally did a Firefox search for `unread' - perhaps I'll have to use OG in a larger font to see everything more easily!....But, it still doesn't show all the topics, as I've described for the Regular Members Area.

The advantage of looking at unread posts is that you can go back to the main index page and click on "Mark Forums Read", which will clear the list until you next visit. You can then click on "View your posts" or "View your topics" up near the User Control Panel. A quick check down the dates/times and then a visit to "Active Topics" and you have basically covered it all.

I suppose my suggestion of having a list with all topics wouldn't work because there would be so many and it would dilute out the main ones too much. Topics like What Grabbed Your Attention would be mixed up with topics in Local Retailers, Job Vacancies and the like.

Doc, I was on the board just browsing and then ran into a parsing error when I tried to open a post. I had multiple tabs open so I tried refreshing each one, same error each time. Sorry did not copy the error as I thought it may just be an odd page or transient. I checked Google to see if it was a browser problem, Google OK. Reloaded site, everything back to normal but all avatars missing. Including locally held ones I think, Tizer, Gus etc.

I think he's blown them away to remind us he is working on the site and to trigger us into making donations.... You're right, they can't be reloaded at the moment, not even from personal hard drive. I tried it.
You did right to go to bed, hope it isn't too hard to find, you've got enough on!

Nolic's right, nothing to get worked up about - in fact it makes a change to see some different pics in place of the avatars! I guess the avatar fuse has blown and Doc needs to insert another one. I like Doc's comment: "Sorry about all this folks, I promise it can only get better" - I think he copied that phrase off the Greek prime minister's web site, or was it the Italian government's web site, or the....

Phew... eventually (4 hours) sussed it out, there was a semi-colon ";" missing in a path statement.

But you all have your avatars back which is a major bonus for me, it turned out we didn't lose them, the software just ignored where to go look for them because of the above error.
